HOGWARTS PROFESSOR FOUND DEAD
Septima Vector, Professor of Arithmancy at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, was found dead Saturday evening. Vector, 42, taught at Hogwarts for nearly twenty years and was a valued member of the staff, according to Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Vector's body was found at the base of the Astronomy Tower shortly before ten o'clock Saturday night by Rubeus Hagrid, Groundskeeper, who declined to come out of his hut to comment. Investigators and Aurors were dispatched to the school immediately, where Dark Magic was ruled out.
"We cannot say for sure if this was accidental or a homicide," said Rufus Scrimgeour, who was on the scene. "We have also not ruled out the possibility of suicide. But we have deduced that there are no traces of Dark Magic anywhere near the tower."
All students were kept sequestered in their dormitories and Common Rooms while the staff and Prefects patrolled the school, in case there was any threat to the students present. None was found.
For now, Vector's death is being treated as an accident, though the investigation is still on-going.
