"Well you can't expect me to think otherwise, can you?" he demanded. "You want to date this bloke then come back to me if it doesn't work out? Makes me sound like the damn backup! Just in case it doesn't work out I'm not going to sit here and wait for you!" He closed his eyes and shook his head. "Who said we'd get married right out of Hogwarts? Why wouldn't you ask me about these damn things before going to assume that I automatically want a family right away?" This was bloody maddening.
"I don't even know who this damn bloke is!" he told her. "I didn't know that you barely know him!" He paused and turned his back fully to her. That hurt. More than she'd probably know. He wasn't going to cry in front of her. That wasn't manly at all and not what he wanted to show her.
"Who said he's not?" he said, keeping his eyes shut tight. "The fact that I'm angry doesn't mean that I fucking hate you. I thought we went over this but if kissing me is like kissing your brother then maybe we shouldn't even try. Why bother especially since you're comfortable telling me things that'll hurt us, but not things that might have saved us both this fucking grief." He was just done with this conversation. He didn't want to talk to her anymore. He lifted a hand as if he were going to say something else before finally letting it drop and walking down the hall without another word.
