“I’ve been interested since I was really young, and when I mentioned it during my fifth year when we were all looking at potential occupations, word got to them that I had expressed interest in their department and only in their department. It was a little unnerving, actually…they would come to school and have short, confusing meetings with me. I never really understood until after I left Hogwarts and set foot inside the Department…I think they were mainly trying to test my trustworthiness,” she really spent more time at work than she should have, but she supposed she’d have to change that habit now. As he spoke about his own work, she listened with obvious interest. She was an okay writer, but she didn’t think she’d make it in the world of journalism, “I bet you get to meet a lot of new people there,” she said with a grin. She had been working with the same people since she started in the Department. She was still the youngest. Most of the witches and wizards who worked in the department were quirky and perhaps a little nutters, speaking to themselves and uttering nonsense phrases. The only real friend she’d made there was an overly eccentric woman twice her age who had a fascination with prophecies.
“I’d like to get to know your sister,” Rose assured him with a smile, “We’re all making changes, and we’ve got to adapt. I would rather move than to unsettle the both of you. We’ll just have to go on that for now, and we’ll make adjustments as we go,” she knew that eventually, the Ministry would take Remy and have her marry someone. She hoped that it would be okay for her, even if she didn’t know her yet.
