Hesitation filled Rye's every working nerve as he stood at the foot of his fireplace. This was it, in ten minutes he would be accepting his destiny, fulfilling his forced fate, meeting his future wife. And for that brief second spent glancing over his shoulder at his front door, he wondered how far he could run before the Ministry dragged him back home. Not far considering the rumors that followed what happened to Lane and Kalen, and even if he had the bold jolt of energy - would he be able to enslave his pair to that kind of life? Never. She, of course, was a person just like he was, with a name and a future. A future full to the brim of him. Poor girl.
Rose, Rye reminded himself, her name is Rose Weasley. The last name triggered an image, but he could only picture the bright red hair he had seen in the Ministry or in the Prophet's office. Had one of those Weasleys been his? 'His Weasley', that sounded out of place and far too possessive to be Rye's train of thought. He grimaced, but continued to wonder about this girl. It was commonly known that the Weasleys were friendly people, but what was the off chance that Rose could be the snotty one of the clan? What if she turned her nose up at him? Or worse... what if she did not even show?
The thought made Rye jump into action, suddenly noticing the clock on his wall. It was only a matter of minutes until they were supposed to be meeting at Florean's, and here he was dwindling his time in a sea of worries. Grabbing a handful of Floo powder, he walked into the fireplace and declared his destination. It was only seconds later that he was dusting off his red sweater and adjusting his collar straight once again. He walked quickly, his canvas shoes giving him an advantage over the business men and women, until he arrived outside of their meeting place. Without putting up much of a search, Rye found her. The bright red hair was what gave the girl away, but he walked over cautiously. Just in case.
"Rose?" Rye inquired curiously, but he kept his characteristic smile on his freckled features.
