Who: Marian and Guy What: Marian swallows her pride When: 04/05, early evening Where: Guy's new room Status: In progress Rating: TBD
If Marian were being honest with herself, she would have said that she believed Guy would have come back by this point. That he would have apologized and swallowed his pride and said that it was all his fault, as he usually did. But all men apparently had a breaking point, a certain point which they could not be pushed beyond, and Guy had reached his. Truth be told, Marian knew that she had not been at her best with Guy. She had let him draw close then pushed him away and, even if she hadn't meant to toy with him, that had been the end result.
It wasn't so much the fact that she was alone that drove her to seek him out, so much as the guilt weighing on her conscience. He had been nothing but patient with his new wife, and now he was humiliated and left without even a consummated marriage.
She'd been to the chocolate store in the mall, the one that he had mentioned visiting, and bought a small box of chocolates, just a little four square for them to share...if he could be persuaded to set aside his anger. Hesitantly, Marian made her way to Guy's new room, knocking at the door before her hands clasped behind her. She could not make a habit of this; it wasn't in her nature to soothe wounded pride or come down from her high horse. But she could try to do this.
As the door opened, Marian looked up at the tall man glaring down at her. Her expression was just as serious, though a bit more humble than their last meeting. "You were right," she advised him gently. "I didn't mean to play games, but I was toying with you...with your affections. I am sorry, Guy. I did not think to hurt you, that was never my aim. I know that you're angry with me, but all I can do is request your forgiveness."
