Normally when someone got reinforcements, it was an enhancement to your situation. And in some ways, Breeana Park was possibly an enhancement on your situation. Especially if you were bored.
Bree wasn't your average rookie IDPD agent. Of course, she also wasn't your average human being either. If she was nothing else, at least she was consistent.
Meetings bored her. Missions bored her (at least on the professionalism front). Rules bored her. The whole IDPD thing was just the means to get new stuff on a multi-verse level. By now she had collected at least twenty-five lamps. One she had given to Ash as a gift for being at her side and the other twenty-four had been "uncollected" by Ash at some point in time when she was distracted by a new shiny. Strangely enough, she never seemed to notice they were gone.
Today, unbeknownst to traveling companion and partner, she was wearing his shoes she had 'liberated'... some time ago. Bree had them so long now, he probably thought they belonged to her (and who was she to argue, really?) The fact they were once "his" made them special enough to not actually get tired of them. Oh yeah, and there was that whole "colorful in a shiny way" thing too. But that was secondary.
Already on the way to the warehouse, Bree had been pulled away from at least ten 'shiny things'. It was amazing that a woman like this was in something as high-profile as her job. But somehow, the eccentric weirdo had saved the universe a few times. On accident of course. She was always too blissfully unaware of her situation to ever help out intentionally. And while the means to the end wasn't textbook, it still got the job done.
Ash was probably a grand part of the duo's success. He was the one slapping her hand from "shiny things", protecting her against herself and others and being the general voice of reason. Being the voice of reason, he shouldn't still be at Bree's side. With all these years under his belt, he should have went screaming years ago. But somehow... he always stayed there. He always kept her safe. And he never left her lonely. It was why her life felt there were no more holes left to fill. He may find her a nuisance and a threat to his sanity, but for her, he enhanced her life in ways he'd probably never know. Because she'd never tell.
Dark eyes flicking toward a passing accessories shop, she noticed a hair shiny in the shape of a crown. Pursing her lips thoughtfully, she looked at the rhinestone covered piece and her steps started to slow. It had been a while since she added more hair accessories to her collection. At least five minutes....
