"You were different?" Ash couldn't wrap his mind around that fact. "What did you have, green hair at the time?" Not a very good use of his imagination but he really could not see Bree as being anything other than she was now. If he knew the truth, Bree would probably be cleaning up the remains of Ash's brain from her clothes.
"..." That was her final choice? He was tempted to go pick one out for her himself, but the moment he wandered off, he knew she'd be walking out the door. And since this day had actually been one of the most well behaved days ever for the two of them, he wasn't going to screw it up by losing sight of her. "I'm going to get arrested later," he mumbled and sighed in defeat. What else could he do at this point? Lock her in a tower and throw away the key? She'd be out of there in five minutes and probably have liberated the tower's very foundation. "Okay. Fine. You're keeping it." He reached for his wallet so he could pay for it on their way out while trying very hard not to ogle stare at her for too long. "Do you want the others too?"
Better he ask now or discover later that she had them anyway. At least he'd be able to breathe easier about something. The rest, well, he'd just have to prepare for the worst.
