Well, he'd been hoping for a TV. The thermostats were nice though and he was sure people like April and Jake were enjoying them. He wasn't going to object to them; he could keep the windows open to sleep if he wanted to -- and this week, he thought he wanted to. It didn't smell bad outside. Piney, foresty. There was a little bit of fish smell from the lake, and he guessed he'd see how awake the animal noises kept him tonight. The frogs were a little on the loud side, though he guessed not as bad as they'd be if he was closer to the lake. He'd spent most of the day just wandering around and exploring. Carefully. There were no dinosaurs, but Tris was pretty sure he'd spotted a coyote toward the northern edge of the forest. He didn't think he was that concerned; coyote were mostly carrion eaters as far as he could recall, and not likely to mob them. He'd also laughed when he'd had that thought -- it was ridiculous to try to apply logic to this place after stalker lions and dinosaurs. Maybe normal coyotes were carrion eaters, but maybe these were special dome-bred constructs that would turn killer by the end of the week. With no TV in the Keep still, Tris nevertheless gravitated toward the common area. He was starting to really wish he had a roommate, but he didn't think he was in a place to ask anyone if they'd like to be cabinmates. He didn't even know if it was possible to request a cabin change. It didn't mean he wouldn't, if he found someone who wanted to hang out with him (and who smelled all right) but he wasn't going to hold his breath on that front. With the Keep somewhat quiet, Tris popped some popcorn, grabbed a Pepsi, and wandered over to the couch that used to be in front of the TV. The fish were ... interesting enough to watch, though he found himself making fish-faces at them as they swam around. Shaking his head at himself, he glanced to the door as he heard footsteps on the other side of it. He caught a whiff of who it was when the door opened, and without looking toward the door or even shifting his seat on the couch, he grinned. "Hey Doug," he called as he picked up another handful of popcorn, blue eyes following the fish as they swam in the tank. |
