Finding horses Characters: Dahlia and Jaime When: Thursday Early Night Location: Around the Dome – Finding horses Warnings/Rating: Swearing maybe Summary: Dahlia wants to see the horses Status: Complete
When Dahlia heard about the lunch that was planned she wasn’t sure she was going to go. It sounded like it could be fun, and she was hungry, but she worried about leaving Sin in the cabin. She had thought to stay, to be company even if Sin might not want it. In fact that was exactly what Dahlia had planned to do with her Thursday but when she realized that their cabin was out of food…she changed her plan.
She’d go for a little while. She could smile and she could talk and she could…be distracted from her own head for a bit. She’d go and she’d bring back some food for Sin.
All her indecision meant that Dahlia showed up a little late for the food but she tried to help where she could. Mostly, for her, that meant staying out of the way. Even though she was there late she let earlier than most…sneaking food back for Sin.
When she returned to the cabin Max was running about but Sin wasn’t.
Dahlia couldn’t help but sigh faintly. She didn’t know what to do. She wasn’t sure what to say…
She shouted loud enough to be heard that there was food in the kitchen. Which did result in Max getting a little piece. She debated staying for a little longer but decided to go back. Maybe if everyone else was done she could bring back some more food for Sin and Max? Or at least it would give Sin time to eat alone if that was what she wanted.
Most people were still there when Dahlia wandered back. She found a spot in the shadows and curled up; watching as people talked….
It was nice…calming in a way but it wasn’t enough to keep her thoughts from wandering. She kept going over things with Sin in her head and she…she was getting nowhere with the thoughts. Maybe she was thinking about it wrong? It was difficult to talk to anyone else about it…most people didn’t like Sin or, at least, didn’t know her very well. Jaime did though.
Dahlia chewed her lip slightly; debating if she should go ask her about it. Maybe it wouldn’t be fair to try to talk to her alone when others were around?
By the time Dahlia made up her mind lunch was pretty much over. “Hey Jaime…” she questioned; approaching the other girl quietly and hoping she wasn’t interrupting anything. “Do you think we could maybe go look for the horses now?” it gave Dahlia a reasoning to ask her away, other than Sin, and…maybe it would be something to make her smile after all her worry and words on Sin.
“If you’re busy though…” she did quickly add on; knowing that when they had made cookies Jaime had mentioned Friday, not Thursday, for looking for the horses. Maybe daytime was better?
