Little Town, it's a Quiet Village. Nereus' merrow is just off the coast of a sleepy coastal town. Having recently come of age, it is time for him to shed his tail and mate with a human man for the first time. Will he fall in love with life above the water, where people see him as a desirable man instead of a second-class mermaid? Or will the young fermara find himself utterly overwhelmed by life on two legs? Open to: Humans, shifters, vampires.
Shipwrecked. During a violent storm, a commercial boat is capsized and the sailors lost to the sea. One of them was saved by young Nereus, who had never seen a human before and became fascinated by this mortal man. In a twist on the classic The Little Mermaid, Nereus watches the man from afar as he looks for the long-haired beauty that he believed saved him. When the young Melusine finally gathers the courage to approach him, will he be rejected as a freak of nature? Open to: Humans.
Stranded. Similar to the Shipwrecked line above, except the human man is dragged onto an island far from shore. Inspired by Robinson Crusoe, this line deals with the mortal man learning to survive on the island with the help of his new fermara friend and potential mate. Unfortunately, Nereus' merrow is not very keen on him having lingering feelings for a mortal man. Open to: Humans.
Blood-Dimmed Tides. One of the founding families of a small coastal town harbors an old secret: they are a line of aquatic shapeshifters. In times long past, the family had struck an accord with the merrow that lived just beyond the coast. The mermaids would not hunt the human sailors in their waters in return for aid against the encroaching Ekhidna and the preservation of their habitat from human pollution. The shapeshifters and the mermaids often mated with each other. However, something happened that inspired a spiteful enmity between the two parties. When a greater threat looms on the horizon, perhaps it is time to renew the ancient treaty of blood and water. Open to: Shifters.
In Love and War. Two viking tribes are at war, either over territory or a specific grievance. One young warrior is determined to prove his mettle and achieve greatness and glory for his people. An old legend says that a young virile warrior can go to the sea and petition it for its favour in battle. The ritual summons Nereus to his side, where the two can mate on the shores of the ocean. If a child is conceived, the merrow will pledge an alliance to the young warrior and help his tribe conquer in battle. Open to: Period line (vikings), Humans.
