They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I say that if you can't you're not trying hard enough.

In other words, I taught one of the dogs to fetch me a beer in exchange for bits of cheese as I restore an old Silver Arrow that some git left languishing out in the middle of an orchard for decades.

Uninformed, perhaps.

It's probably why I don't play professionally.

What would you say is the most superior aspect of this broom you're reconditioning?

The handling and the responsiveness. There is no way that it could have been mass manufactured like today's brooms. The spellwork is far too complex.

Huh. I wonder why they moved away from models like that and gave the newer models less of those details. Are they still used for games? I always used school brooms.

Leonard Jewkes worked solo and demand outstripped supply, which is how the Cleansweep company edged him out of the market and eventually bought out many of his designs and concepts. Later, their biggest competitor was Comment. Nimbus and Firebolt would come later.

I wouldn't use a Silver Arrow in a game. It's far too valuable.

Wow. You're a broom historian. If you aren't, you should consider it.

I'm happy enough as a quidditch player right now.
