I was going to write about my injury and how I'm not actually writing anything by myself, only with a spelled quill, but it seems other people's are of much more notice at the moment. Are the magazines here always so... I forget the word, but it seems like they are ready to self-destruct by clawing at their own staff?

Not that I am knowing anyone at this magazine, of course, but it seems to me like a very silly thing to allow one of your staff to do, no? Very unprofessional?

Petty. I think that's the word you're looking for.

They give you a timeline for when you'll be back to yourself at least?

I was thinking more... you know when something eats itself? Destroys itself from the inside? But yes, petty.

I just need to rest next week. Fortunately, it was a very clean break and should heal well very quickly!

Petty pretty well covers it. They'll cut off their noses over there to spite their face.

That's not too bad, at least. Breaks aren't exactly a walk in the park, but better than a concussion or something. Those are nasty. Can't even bloody well do anything.

Glad you'll live though.

Ah ouais, once I was playing at school, against another school, and the opposing beater concussed me with his bat. Stupid boy.

And merci! Much more fun when everyone is fit to fight another day, non?

Yes. The gossip around here is ridiculous.

I am thinking it seems like a pretty terrible business plan, at the very least.

Ignore it. It's the best thing to do.

Bien sur, but when it is the first time you see something you want to understand it properly, no?

Canada, Québec, London, New York. Every aspect of society has gossip magazines. Every workplace has cannibalistic workplace politics. Perhaps you're just now waking up to them. No worries.

Having grown up in Quebec I am quite familiar with its gossip magazines and their styles, thank you. Given the unpleasantness directed to the lady in question, it was better to ask than to assume.

Good. The lady in question is tough as nails. She's used to getting discriminated against her for her opinion. I think that instead of signing her owls 'best regards', she just leaves it at a quaint 'regards' and gets on with it.

Well, it is good that she can handle it. She seems to be friends with a lot of people I like, so she must be reasonable.

Ah, now, this is reminding me of something... there was a joke my manager made. That most people would find 'regards' to be polite but for the British they would be secretly seething with rage. I cannot decide if he was exaggerating or not.

The worst thing is to just get a regards. Fills you with dread.

I think I'd much rather talk about your injury. Bone or muscle?

Bone! One of the opposing beaters got my left tibia. A bit of skelegro and a week's rest to be sure, and it will be fine. Not a bad break, thankfully!

Yeah, thankfully. I figured someone would get wrecked this week after Ellie's spinal disfiguration conglomeration but I'm glad to hear that you're going to be alright!

It is fine, I have had worse, as most of us probably have! It is good to get the first injury out of the way early and then hope they do not come later in the season.

Yeah, hopefully. Nothing drastic has happened to me yet, but I have a healthy fear of taking out one of my teammates with a bludger.

At least that would be an accident. I once had someone get me with their bat, which was sheer incompetence.

How are you doing? Do you need anything?

I do not mind certain magazines, but it is when they become cruel that it is not at all right.

I am fine! I am making Phillip fetch and carry for me. It is quite amusing, because he doesn't dare say no.

He can still use magic to fluff said pillows. I never said he had to do it by hand.
