Thank you everyone who dropped by yesterday to celebrate. I know it's a bit odd to celebrate leaving the UK, but what's a bit of ribbing between friends?

Only 364 days until July 4, 2008!

[Warded to Anais Bolduc, the Montrose Magpies, Eddie Charmichael, Oliver Wood, Heidi MacAvoy, Meaghan McCormack]
It's a girl! I'd send out cigars, but I'm pretty sure smoking is frowned upon these days.

Obviously don't share this with anyone because Lord, I haven't even told my Mama yet, but I am confirming Witch Weekly's rumor when it comes to the paternity of Meaghan McCormack's daughter.

[OOC: If you think Pip would ward your character about this news, please comment and he will add you. Also, please update the character relationship chart.]

[Heidi]
I know it's a lot to ask for you to not print this. Can I give you something to write about instead?

Right. Great. Good. I'm sure that'll be quite the shock. Considering...my previous stance on the subject.

Really? I have.

This is why they do what they do and we play a game for a living.

It's coming. I'm not looking forward to it, but I know it's coming.

I'm going to just apologize in advance, okay?

I'm glad I'm not in charge of that shite. I'd end up flipping off the journalists and fecking off to France or something.

I'm not sure I'm entitled to any apologies from you.

Well if you do decide to go off to France, let me know?

Too bad, you're getting one anyway.

Well. You've been bumped up to first person to owl in case of fecking off to France. So. There's that.

Well...Thanks. I guess. Still, when you're ready to go ahead and yell at me, let me know.

That's pretty important, but just in case, do you have any favorite places other than France I should know about?

You're welcome.

Anywhere with a beach and a bar, boyo.

You had me at beach.

Also, if I get something for Ember, is thee anything she likes specifically? Or anything she hates? I don't want to scar her for life by giving her something she's terrified of.

She's not afraid of anything, honestly, so you're alright there. But don't get her, y'know, princessy-sparkly-tea set type things. She'll look at you like you're mental.

She likes puzzles. But not like, jigsaws, those involve an awful lot of sitting still. She's also getting very into swords which I really rather wish she wouldn't.

Sharp and pointy objects bad. Treasure hunts okay. Nothing too girly.

How do you feel about jousting?

You're a quick study. You'll be fine. She's a lot like you, actually. She's going to love you.

Jousting?

You know, two people run at one another with lances. Or substitute lances. Nice padded things. Nobody can get hurt.

The sarcastic person would answer 'genetics' but the honest answer is that I'm trying to think of things that won't make her hate me.

Should there be other things I should know? Like rules? I don't want to step on your toes there.

She's six. Give her candy and you've made a friend for life. She's not complicated. Just, y'know. A bit nutters.

Well. She's got a mouth on her which is entirely my bloody fault, so we have a swear jar. And she's not supposed to do things like wander off with strangers or go anywhere without telling me or one of her grandparents or eat anything that I haven't like, expressly approved because otherwise she's going to put herself into a sugar coma. I'm not big on rules for the sake of rules. Just so long as she doesn't end up maiming herself or others.

Sounds reasonable enough. Swear jar, got it. Cabinet of approved food and snacks. She's too old for naps, right?

Yes, too old for naps.

Your match is on Friday this week, yeah? So are you free Sunday sometime for us to come visit?

Sunday should be good. The boys and their parents are here starting Wednesday. My brother and sister in law go on their vacation next Saturday. I will then have the boys for the two weeks following.
