Title: Departures And Arrivals

Prompt: Should auld acquaintance be forgot?
Notes: Well, we're getting towards the end of this thing. I want to thank everyone that's commented on these bits of my brain over the last month. This has been so much fun, and a mini challenge for me to see if I could do this every day. I'm as shocked as you guys are, believe me! So, here we go, 4 for tonight. Hope these fit the prompt. I was thinking along the lines of not so much old acqaintances as people that come and go in the lives of our friends in the Pitts.

A part of Brian was getting on that plane. A bigger part than he realized. Having Gus home for the holidays was better than he thought it would be. The older Gus got, the more Brian wanted to spend time with him. His personality was an amalgam of all of his parents, which made him funny, snarky and petulant.
“Daddy, I had a good Christmas.”
“I’m glad. I’ll see you in a few weeks. You, me and Justin are going skiing after his art show.”
“Can Justin ski? He can’t skate.”
“I know. Good thing his butt is bouncy, huh?”

“I forgot to tell you, Brian’s flying us down for your art show next month. This way he doesn’t have to fly here, then back to Canada for your ski trip.”
“That’s great. You know I value your opinion. And you can help me with finding an agent. Maybe someone you know will be there.”
“Maybe. The serious collectors tend to make the rounds regardless of location.” Lindsay hugged Justin. “I’ll see you soon.”
Justin hugged her, then Mel.
“She misses having you to talk art with.”
“I miss that, too. Email isn’t the same.”
Mel smiled, nodding. “I know.”

Hunter was out visiting friends, and the house was quiet for the moment.
“I’d forgotten how much louder it is when you have a teenager at home.” Michael said.
“Not a teen anymore. Well, almost. I still worry about him when he’s gone.” Ben pulled Michael closer. “He’s doing really well in school. I’m stunned that he picked journalism as a major.”
“Like father, like son.”
“No…he’ll be better at writing than me.”
Michael frowned slightly. “What makes you think that?”
“He has a strong voice. He always has. He’s blunt, opinionated, and honest. That makes for a great writer.”

Emmett and Drew had joined Ted and Blake for dinner. Drew renegotiated his deal with Brown Athletics, and asked for more money. It was going to cost Leo Brown more than a guilty conscience.
“So, Drew, are you staying in Pittsburgh?” Ted asked.
“Yeah, for now. I got a gig with Real Sports doing interviews with athletes. I go wherever they send me for the story.”
“Drew will be on tv every week,” Emmett gushed. “Of course, I can see him whenever I want.”
“Just don’t let him dress you,” Ted said.
“I have impeccable taste!”
“In men, yes. Clothes…?”
