Challenge #105: Icon Inspiration
Title: Mental Checklist
A/N: My icon of choice is this one:

I found it on qaf_icons and it is by the wonderful and talented pfodge
Condom: Justin

Justin almost understood plenty of things about Brian. How Brian “secretly” watched Justin sleep, or called him Sonny Boy. How sometimes, when Brian ran his fingers through Justin’s hair, he’d stop to feel his scar – still uneven and rough from how quickly they'd closed the wound.

Justin knew, somehow, that it all meant Brian loved him, wanted to protect him.

But it wasn’t until the night Justin lay awake, his ear pressed to Brian’s heart, that he realized all of those things were Brian’s mental checklist: Breathing (Check). Safe (Check). Put back together (Check). Heart beating (Check). Really there (Check).

	Ooh. This is really good. It is wonderful all the way through, but the twist at the end that enlightens the reader as to where Justin's thoughts were heading the whole time is just excellent. (Reply to this) (Thread)
