There were boxes everywhere. The apartment was quiet, the city was as bright as
He groaned, not really fond of the idea of unpacking.
Reluctantly he dragged himself into the closet that was his bedroom. The first box he opened was painting supplies. The second was clothes. He pulled out a shirt and tossed it on the bedspread.
“This came while you were out.”
A package landed on the bed next to him.

And the great part was he hadn’t lifted a finger. It had taken only a few years to build up his reputation and success in order to afford such a place.

“The doctor said he’ll make a full recovery.”
“Why hasn’t Brian come to the hospital?”
“They had a fight.”
“But Michael almost died.”
“Brian was there the night of the bombing, but they told us Michael would be fine and he left.”
“Asshole. How do either of you put up with him?”
“Hunter, I’m tired, would you please stop asking so many questions and just go to sleep?”
“Fine.”
“Thank you.”
“Can I ask you one more question?”
“Just one.”
“Where’s my bed?”
