True... I know it's fic with a particularly addictive quality, but I've also 'heard' it mentioned with a hint of irony or that the fic is written with a deliberate sense of the ridiculous. When that's not the intention, then my guess is that's probably where the negative connotation comes into play :) Ah well, crack!fic is among one of my favorite genres of fanfic. ;)
