Sorry I'm so late to the party -- life got in the way, then I was so glad to be back playing with friends, I forgot to come here. Anyway...
Hi! I'm Flame. I discovered QaF in Jan '05, and I've been an unrepentant QaF addict ever since. I've been active on LJ for about 4 years and here for 2.
I adore the show. I adore (most of) the actors, and I enjoy seeing as much of their other work as I can. I adore reading well-written fic. I adore the music of QaF. I adore playing with fellow fans on LJ and here in our personal journals and in all the wonderful comms that populate both sites. And most importantly, I adore the friends I've made as a result of this, my one and only such obsession.
I started the qaf_alumsnnews comm here on IJ last year when I realized there was nowhere to discuss stuff about the alums and their other work here on IJ. Please come read our profile page, join us if you can, and post and comment away.
I also started the making_qaf comm here about a month ago, so that we can have a place to discuss all the other aspects of the show not touched upon by the auspices of the other QaF comms here on IJ. Again, please come read our profile page and join in the fun. There's not much there yet since the comm's so new. So please help us get the ball rolling -- post and comment as much as you like. The more the merrier!
As an important aside, I want to point out that as nice as this "friending party" is as a way to encourage people to come out of lurkdom and give the fandom a little shot in the arm, I hope the newcomers don't come away with the impression that you need permission to "friend" someone. You don't. If you want to read someone's posts, or want them to be able to read your "friends-only" posts, then just go ahead and "friend" them.
Also, be aware that you are under no obligation to "friend" someone just because they "friend" you. However, it's important to know that even if you do choose to "friend" everyone, that doesn't mean you are obligated to give all of your "friends" access to all of your most private posts. That's what custom friends groups and filters are for. Look here and here for help in doing so.
And conversely, you shouldn't be offended if not everyone you "friend" "friends" you back. Some people won't "friend" people until they get to know them well, others just don't want to be overwhelmed by big f-lists, etc.
But most importantly, welcome to the fabulous obsession and fantastic fandom of QaF! I look forward to getting to know and play with all of you. :)
