Show and Tell: It's Emmett Appreciation Time!
Oh, Emmett! Why do we love you so?

What is it about Emmett? Just saying his name makes me want to smile.

Emmett is the friend we all wish we had. He's funny and flamboyant, and he has a sense of style that's truly beyond compare. He's sweet-natured and giving, witty, warm, and wise.

He's beautiful - he's tall! - and he's irresistably sexy. And he can dance!

He's also a man of enormous complexity and strength.

There are many, many reasons to love Emmett - and I'd love to know some of yours. Let's make today an Emmett Appreciation Day.

I love Emmett's transformation in 402 - from sad and doubtful faerie, to Clear Day (did I mention that I also love his Barbra impressions :)), to Glam-Emmett, his flame burning bright again, and ready to light up the world.

	Thanks for the link - what a treasure chest! I was just shopping around for some Emmett icons, but can stop now. I hadn't seen some of these - isn't this one by zaipixie gorgeous?? Aren't they all. Emmett, oh Emmett, how I love you.

I love Emmett (not just because we share a nickname) but because of how great of a friend he is. This icon, made by

qafmaniac describes it perfectly. Everyone needs someone who is as good of a friend as Emmett is. Emmett will do anything for his friends. In Season 1 when Blake is following Ted around, Emmett acts all butch and pushes Blake away.

I also love Emmett when he dresses up with the rest of the gang to crash Michael and David's fundraiser for the Senator. He looks so fantastic!

Emmett would be the one character from the show that I would want to know in RL and hang out with.

The "Everyone needs their own Emmett" icon is one of my favorites and it's exactly true. And BTW - I have it credited not just to our lovely

qafmaniac but to you, too. I understood you were the author, Qaffy the artiste. A fine pairing you two make!

And yeah - he does make most fabulous Jackie Kennedy!

Yes!! In fact, not very long after I first found QAF I had my first QAF-related dream, starring Emmett. I was feeling all upset about something ... and he was there, being sweet and funny and just making it all better. And then he invited me to come shopping. Hee - how's that for a G-rated QAF dream!

Wouldn't it be a lovely world if we all did get to have our own Emmett!

Emmet is so wonderful. When I first watched S1, I was riveted to the See The Light storyline. It broke my heart to see Emmett trying to be something he wasn't and I couldn't wait for the next episode to see if he would finally come to his senses. And of course when he does, he it utterly fabulous.

I hated the Emmett/George storyline when it first started, but you could really see how much they loved each other. The scene in 214 with Emmett on the plane after George dies is one of the most gorgeous and heartbreaking of the series. His Crystal Dick speech breaks my heart too.

I love what a great friend he is to Michael in S1 and the wonderful friendship he develops with Debbie later in the series.

He so is - it's like seeing your best friend return from a long, difficult absence.

I had some serious reservations about the George storyline at first, too. I think I was won over around the time George met the gang at Babylon that night - or maybe earlier. At some point I remember suddenly feeling it's all right; that they were a great match, even if an unlikely one. And then, they took it all away and it was so sad.

I love the Deb/Em friendship too - and then later how he and Carl get along so well. The scene where Carl asks him not to move out - one of my favorites in s5.

	there are so many memorable moments, he was there for all of his friends..!! i loved how he loved george, but wouldnt take any money from him, how he stood up to his uber bitch ex wife, and would not take the million dollars that was offered to him to keep quiet about his and georges relationship.. how could you not love this man.. He's such a beautiful soul, it really does seem impossible not to love him. But then I remind myself of things he's said about his past in Hazelhurst, and realize he's experienced a lot of hurt and rejection (and worse) in his life. Which has no doubt helped to shape the strong, wise, and compassionate man we know and love today.
