SEASON FIVE FAVE MOMENTS
Season Five brought us laughter, tears and hope. We lived through breakups, bombs and "I love yous." There were rings, proposals and invitations. The final season of our show was full of highs and lows but mostly it was filled with boys becoming men, lots of friendship, love and teh love. It was an amazing ride...one I'll always be grateful for.

How about you?

Take a few minutes to share your fave season five memories.

Alas, I must leave the festivities because my friend scheduled her 40the bday bash on the same day how dare she? but I look forward to partaking in the fun tomorrow.

Have fun my fellow fandom peeps.

there are a couple of funny scenes that i just laugh everytime i see them

505 when em takes ted to the dyke bar, and the girl starts hitting on ted, emmett says the funniest thing "she just hasnt been herself with the hot flashes and all"

i love all the justin/mel/linds moments through out the entire show, from the moment he met them he wanted to do anything for them, and when he left brian for ethan, they were still his friend, and it was reversed when mel/linds split and linds thought that justin would choose sides..he didnt.

i love the ted/brian moments, brian giving ted another chance after his drug binge, ted being someone that brian can rely on in his business and will be there as a true friend, brian tells him in 508 why he is who he is,and that he lost the 2 things in the world that mean the most to him, ted will not judge him in anyway..i think brian really regards that as something special.

michael is a good friend too, but a "do you remember when we did friend.."
there are so many..thank you for letting me prattle on..

Most of my favorites are from the end of S5. One moment that always makes me smile is kind of strange. When Michael sees Brian and Justin's wedding invitation and he starts getting upset, Ben comes over to the table with this big smile and says "Apple cinnamon pancakes" very loudly to distract Michael. For some reason I just love that.

Along that same vein, everyone's reactions to the invitations are fabulous. That may be one of my favorite moments of the entire series. The hot sex doesn't hurt either:)

My heart just stops when Brian says to Justin "I was so fucking scared" it gets me just as much as the "I love you."

Justin's confrontation with Craig in his office. It breaks my heart, but the dynamics between Justin and his family were some of the best parts of S1 and I was so glad to see the series come back to that. Justin really needed that moment to let go of Craig.

I love Brian's first proposal because it is so random and out of character which is what makes it feels so genuine to me.

The look on Brian's face when Justin says yes and they hug kills me.

The tux scene.

Blake! He and Ted belong together.

Apart from my all time favorite QaF-moment (when Brian, at his most open and vulnerable, is looking at Justin, then dives in for the kiss like he's drowning, and Justin catches him), there is this scene when Brian comes over to Michael's house and berates him on corrupting Justin. I love the raw emotions of this scene.
Also, the little whimpering noises Justin makes in response to Brian saying ILY.
And I'll always cherish the one thing that surprised me the most, because I wasn't spoiled for that: Blake and Ted uniting.

OK, that's just me scratching on the surface of all the love that was in S5.

*hugs* When you first described this scene to me this way not very long ago, I went back and rewatched it and felt like I was really appreciating it for the first time. Before that, I would find myself still getting somewhat caught up in sadness and fear and other negative things that were blocking my view. No more. It really is an utterly beautiful moment.

*hugs back*
I'm so happy that I was able to help you move beyond the sadness and that you can appreciate the beauty of this scene now. I don't think there's ever been a tv moment that hit me like this one.

Five favorite S5 memories, hm? Ok:

501 – In Debbie’s kitchen late at night: Carl tells Emmett he’s sorry to see him move out. When Emmett replies that when most straight men see him, they head for the hills – except his father, who ran him out of town – Carl’s compassion is palpable. It was Em’s father’s loss, says Carl, and he tells Em that he’s a good man, and asks him to stay. It feels like Emmett has a new father figure in his life now, and I love the possibilities for how their relationship will develop over the years to come.

502 – The final scene, with the hot reunion sex and the sweet reveal of the Empty Drawer of Love.

507 – Oddly, one of the most painful scenes is also one of my favorite s5 memories. In the loft, Brian comes home to find Justin waiting; Brian takes a bottle of water from the fridge, and Justin remembers that first time he watched Brian do that. They talk; Justin tells Brian he’s made some decisions about his life and what he wants – and that he accepts the Brian can’t (or won’t) give him those things. There is something so exquisitely beautiful and dignified about Justin in this scene; soft-spoken and direct – wise and mature beyond his years.

This feels like a new beginning. Like something has shifted in Justin – like he’s claiming power over his own life in a way he never really has before, and I love seeing this – for Justin’s sake, and also for Brian’s, for many reasons. Mainly, for the sake of the future B/J relationship.

When Justin closes the loft door this time, my thought is always the same: Justin has left for the last time. When they reunite the next time, no one is ever leaving again. Not the relationship, at least.

510 – Brian finding Justin in the wreck of Babylon; Brian finally saying “I love you” in so many words.

513 - In the diner – When Ben and Michael give Hunter the journal and he agrees that they should adopt him. It makes me cry in a good way.

Aha! Actually, now that I read this it occurs to me that this reminds me of Justin as he was the first time I saw him under that lamppost. All resolute and in charge of directing his own destiny.

LOL! Oh - I read "five s5 memories" - when only one would do! Shouldn't try to catch up on things before dawn!
