Show & Tell: Brian's Moments with Debbie
She's his friend, she's his surrogate Mom, she doesn't let him get away with his bullshit and she has no problem putting him in his place.

This is one of my favorite Brian and Debbie Moments. It's beautiful, they way they respect each other and care about each other. Now show & tell me yours.

I love when Brian's at Mikey's when Deb comes over and finds out he quick the Big Q. They are so awesome together.

But my favorite moment is either when they're in the hospital church or when she tells him she's never been more proud than when she learned what he and Sunshine were up to.

Oh, and when she says it has the hand of the master written all over it.

Oh!!! I love it later in the waiting room when Brian tells Ben to listen to Deb because "God did." The look they share then slays me.

I love it, too. And so does Deb!

Actually, I feel like 'thinking out loud' about that moment. You know it's so sweet, because the lines, "You better listen to her, God did." Are so Brian Kinney. Without knowing what tone he'd use, it could sound the same as his more sarcastic/cynical remarks like, "It fills the void." But the way he says it. It's like an innocent little boy. Just like when he says, "It's for my prince." It's just the way he talks, whether he's being sarcastic or not. In slogans. And it's so neat to see it be so heart felt. He also gave Debbie back a lot of dignity when he said it. Ben was really putting her in her place while they were out in the waiting room. I like when Ben does that, it's right for the moment. But when Brian puts her back "on top", it's very touching.

And since Debbie believes in God, I am sure she was very moved to hear Brian speak as though there is one.

I'm sorry. I couldn't pick a different moment cause this scene is the penultimate Brian/Debbie moment! I watch 410 bouncing in my seat waiting for it! It makes my heart melt and tears come to my eyes EVERY time. That Deb could be so mad at him, and as soon as she knows he is sick, it's gone, vanished, never happened! And there is not another soul that Brian would beg for their forgiveness and pity! *sob*

Aw, girl, you have hit on one of the things about QAF that gets to me, SO HARD!

Brian and Debbie have a relationship that is on one hand so complex as most of Brian's relationships are, the way she loves/hates him for what he has always been to Michael, and the way she sometimes expects him to be better than he is and then seems to expect him to be less than he is. Then on the other hand their relationship is so simple, in that, he was always a boy in need of a mother, and she could no more turn him away then she could fly.

I got a little choked up writing it to be honest.

Going off of what [info]besamislabios said, I love the similar scene S5 where she comes to the loft and encourages him to try and patch things up with Michael. It's such a lovely moment for them.

I can only tell, because I don't have an icon for the scene.

206. Debbie confronting Brian at Woody's. "You love him, don't you?"

It's quintessential Debbie/Brian. She's aggressive, he's in denial. But then the gloves come off and her voice lowers and she implores him to tell Justin what he could never tell Michael and Brian, totally unable to deny that truth, huffs out a little breath and doesn't say a word.

Beautiful, revealing and just plain awesome moment between the two of them.

Agree, with you 100% about the scene, however, <lj user = "qaf_coffeeclub" is reserved for discussions on the show or fiction (you might want to check out the user profile) - not the actors. Thanks!

Oh, yay, I can use my Brian/Deb icon!!!

Oh, gosh, there are so many, but the ones that stand out for me are:

111-"I just firgured it out. You can't do ANYTHING quietly." I was so angry with her for wanting Brian to do something about Michael; to fuck him or let him go. to make it right somehow. But she was ight, in her own weird Debbie way. Brian did need to do that.

205- Brian, Michael and Debbie watching the Capt Astro comic sell on eBay. So funny and exciting.

206- "You love him, don't you?" Oh!!! *grabs heart*

311- Getting stoned with Mama, part one. "Got any chips?" rotfl

410(?) Brian "walking" Debbie home, and the cancer reveal. She went from pissed to Mama in 0.2 seconds. And then in church: "One more thing. Brian Kinney. *pause* No doubt you've heard of him." lmao

508(?) Getting stoned with Mama, part 2.

Brian: "Does Detective Horvath know his blushing bride-to-be is a pothead?"

Debbie: "Nothing kills a relationship faster than full disclosure."

*dies*

I love how they're mother and son, co-conspirators, confidantes and friends, just not all at once.

And I will forever love Brian taking her hand in the chapel as she prays for Michael, and how he can't quite stop the tears from clogging his throat as he tells God that he'd better listen to her.

i think one of the funniest moments is when debby interupts his "backroom party" at the loft. she comes into his bedroom and tells him about the cop, trying to get him to do something about it..she knows brian, she knows that he is seeing his liberty avenue shrinking because of stockwell..

I love the scene where Deb tells Brian to tell his dad that he, Brian, is gay. She phrases it well, "Take it from someone who has known you a lot longer than you've known yourself." (or something similar, ha).
