Back in the olden days, you had to be 5 years old before school started in September. I wanna say it was around the 15th, like that was the cutoff. So, if Michael was born in November, then he would have to wait til the next school year. They changed that rule around the time my kids started school. Then, if they turned 5 in that calendar year, as long as they knew their name, first and last, ABC's and could count to 10, they were accepted to kindergarten.
