I'm so glad I wasn't around when the show was still airing, because seriously? I'd have had an aneurysm. I would have. Totally QaF had lots of fun little... quirks, while it was still airing. There were a few times when I was just like "OK flist, if you need me I'll be over at bjfic.net, otherwise I'll see you when you all calm the fuck *down*. :P Not that the people on my flist was generally the problem, more the comms there.
I'm not sure I DO "ship" this couple. Ship is just short for relationship, so to say you ship a pairing means you believe in that pairing.
I will never feel this way about another show, and I have no interest in watching another show this way again, and don't want to ever feel this way again. Personally I find life too boring without a fandom, and after spending 2 years in the QaF fandom, and living through some of it's stupider moments, I just needed a change. But I guess everyone's different.
but never once did they have what I'd really call anything more than just garden-variety TV show "we're supposed to be attracted to each other now" chemistry. I can't actually disagree there with you. As I've said, I'm actually a B/J shipper, and can't believe that Brian and Michael would make it past a week if actually *did* get together. I'm mostly playing devils advocate in this thread, because, well for a few different reasons. I'm trying my best not to troll (and I would hope someone would point it out to me if I stepped over that line) but I guess it kind of gets me that people can be so dismissive of other people's ships.
I really have no clue how anyone can dislike them, or either of them, or see them with anyone else. It's genuinely bewildering to me. I know! My sister has a friend who is a huge B/M shipper! And she *hates* Justin. I don't understand how she got through watching the show. I mean it's one thing to have fun with a non-canon pairing, but to actively *hate* one of the main characters of the show, and one who has so much screen time? I know *I* couldn't stand it.
Is that serious enough for you? ;) I didn't mean to say that people can't be serious about their ships, or shouldn't :P But since I've lived through ship wars, it kind of gets me the lengths some people go to, to try and prove that their ship is the one and only one out there.
