It really does. Britin wasn't so much the country manor, but Brian's intention to give Justin a real home, one that he wouldn't be kicked out of. The one thing I did believe with all my heart was that Brian meant every single word and gesture he said and made in that house. I believed that he would change if it made Justin happy, and I believe that he would have tempered it as well. He did go off the rails a bit, but the fact that he kept the rings and, we assume, Britin, says more than anything. Justin leaving in 507 killed Brian. The look on his face, the way he kept blinking his eyes...ouch.
I read this story, can't remember who wrote it, where Justin left in 507, got downstairs and outside, and threw up. There is something so canon about that. I could see that happening.
