I have to say I didn't know this song, I was never a Madonna fan (gasp!) but I have always loved the struggles of both Brian and Justin with their fathers and this song works very well to show us that. These two lines are exactly why I'd chose this song!!

Yes,they both had to struggle and they both yearned for their fathers love and understanding...in a different way.

When I got the assignment for this prompt I thought about it very hard.What are they both yearning for aside from the obvious?We all know that they yearn for each other!I thought there must be something else and then I had to think about their fathers and it hit me.They both are yearning (or in Brian's case yearned)for their fathers love and understanding and this song was the only one that would fit into the story. ;)

	This breaks my heart! It's such a sad part of the show, but I imagine a portrayal of a very real issue with gay men, that there is such drama with their fathers. And of course, Brian's issues with Jack go much deeper still. You have done a lovely job of showing both the angst and pain of that, but also how our boys work through that and overcome! Gorgeous! 	I've always been fascinated by the similarities and differences of their relationships with their fathers. This illustrates them very well and it gives us a glimpse into Brian's desire to shield Justin from being hurt. guh (Reply to this)
