60. Drabble: Home Is Where the Heart Is
Title: Home Is Where the Heart Is
Author: [info]itwaslovetome
Theme: Dwellings/Home
Notes: [info]grayskyblue betaed. Many thanks.

Ethan’s apartment building was old and echoed. Justin could hear everything everyone said in there, with one exception: When Ethan chased him out into the hallway and down the stairs shouting “Justin!” and “I love you!” over and over again. Justin heard only his own footsteps, felt only his own heartbeat. Steady rhythms in the chaos.

The first night Justin spent back at the loft, the air was cool and crisp. This time, when someone called out “Justin!” he heard it loud and clear. And in the silence afterward, their entwined limbs and uneven breathing spoke unmistakable “I love yous.”

I like how Justin can always *hear* when Brian "says" I love you.

::Sigh:: I do, too.
Thank you!

Great comparison and perfect example that there is more than one way to say I love you. I love that Justin hears it. *happy sigh*

Thank God Justin has gone deaf at the right moment!!
And Thank God that he always "hears" what Brian has to "say"... ;)

Loooved this!

Oh, I love the contrast between the two. Ethan cheapened the words "I love you" by using them frivolously and constantly. Brian knew how to say it without words.

Exactly.
I love the contrast between relationships that the show gives us. It's great (though often heartbreaking) to watch, and fun to work with. :)
Thank you!

Ethan was painful, but a great growth moment for Justin. I think this highlighted that.

That's exactly how I feel about the Ethan thing. A great lesson and contrast, though horrible to watch.
Thank you for for your feedback. :)

It took a little time, but Justin learned that listening with his heart worked better than listening with his ears. Beautiful drabble that just makes my heart melt!

A very important thing to learn, to listen with your heart.
Thank you for your comment. :)

I am going to guess that you are the same writer of Bouquet. This is excellent drabble. So much revealed in only 100 words. Amazing.

You've captured this so beautifully, how "I love you" is so much more than words. *melts*

Great contrast! It would be hard not to notice how different these two "homes" are but you came at it in an unexpected way. I really liked this!
