53. Drabble: Going Home
Title: Going home

The second time Vic ever met Brian was at the intersection of two streets in a middle class neighborhood. Brian was exactly where he said he would be when he called Deb’s house thirty minutes earlier, asking for a lift. As Brian gingerly got into the passenger side, Vic could see the busted and swollen lip. Brian muttered a thanks, his voiced tinged with anger and shame. He knew Brian had a pretty bad attitude, but Vic could never imagine hitting a kid, much less your own. Vic gripped the wheel hard and sped down the street. “Let’s go home.”

Brian muttered a thanks, his voiced tinged with anger and shame.
This line broke my heart.

Vic has it right, for all purposes, that was Brian's home.
I've often wondered about Vic and Brian's relationship, the backstory of it all. Thank you for giving us a peak into it!

I always felt that they should have shown more interaction between Vic and Brian, especially in the earlier seasons. Vic would have been one of the men Brian looked to for guidance as a young man, I'm sure.

I'm so glad Brian had Deb and Vic to turn to. You could always see there was a special bond between Brian and Vic.

I always wondered about the backstory of Brian and Vic and I would have loved to here more about it on the show.They seemed totally at ease with each other.

Vic never talked a lot, but when he said something, it meant something. You show that perfectly here. Beautiful!

Thank you. Brian has good instincts about people and, even as a kid, I imagine he knew who to trust and was bold enough to seek them out.
