well, my dad was a member of the royal ballet so that music and that style of dance is what i was most drawn to. i think it still holds true for me today. i love building my own synths and stravinsky's rite of spring will forever be my favourite ballet, so i don't think it's too much of a surprise to say i'm most attracted to dark, jarring, almost unnatural sounds and movements. aesthetics with very classic, very recognisable roots but with a tenser, more unsettling twist. as if you were to hold those classic up to a cracked, warped mirror, if that makes sense? i like to try and create stuff with classic, symphonic roots, stuff that might've once been judged as too posh or too rigid, and i like to try and make it into something newer and darker and more expansive. i'm realising now that this must sound incredibly self-important and pretentious as hell, forgive me.
