First day of school - this week!

Just to make it official for anyone who might not remember, this week - starting yesterday - is the first day of school in-game. Feel free to strike up threads where classmates toss notes at each other during class, babble in the morning, or hang out at lunch, etc.

Short Note

Just a quick note, everyone. First, you can begin posting in one of the first night threads the moment it's up. There is no strict posting order, but try to give everyone a chance to respond to things. Second, in Yggdrassil threads only while we prefer paragraphs and so on, you can post one sentence if that's all that needs to be done. Third, make sure that your character falls through a hole because they were walking past a tree sometime between 9 and 3 AM. The idea is that fate leads them to get involved, as Igor's dream stated, but that they'll be able to defy it with what they end up doing as a result - trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

High school dorm curfews begin at 10, if I recall, so if your character is a particularly obedient sort and you're at a loss for how they could be outside at 9? Maybe they're walking to their dorms to get there before curfew, etc.

Social Links Update

Forgive us for the late update, but we have two more announcements.

First of all, applications are closed for now and will re-open in June.

Secondly, a change has been made to the Social Links. The P3 and P4 cast (who are currently in the game) are no longer a part of the Major Arcana. You can still have them at the bottom of your character's Social Links page (for example: here is how Souji's is arranged) to keep track of relationship dynamics with non-Arcana characters. Just check the Cast or Arcana pages to make sure you have your S.Links up-to-date. Also, players with Minor Arcana characters must also have Social Links pages because of the skill-giving potential for the persona users.

Thank you everyone for signing up your persona users on the First Night post! We're very excited for your participation. Feel free to leave any questions you might have here and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

The First Night

Alright guys, it's time to sign up for something! To have some measure of organization come the weekend the game starts, we've come up with this.

The first night, characters will fall through holes and land in various places in Yggdrassil - none of these locations will be true 'branches' or 'dungeons' we'll see later, but random areas. Certain characters will happen to land in nearby locations and, hopefully, run into each other and battle their way to the center of Yggdrassil, where they might eventually figure out that falling into the fountain will actually pop you back to wherever you were - and they're distinctly dry.

The only shadows to be encountered the first night are Mayas of various types if you so choose, but they have to be assumed as weak enough for the characters to survive battling lots of them as they try to figure out what the heck is going on. The mods will not be writing the shadows in the first night - it's up to all of you to have fun with the cast battling and evading the relatively weak shadows.

In each thread, one of the four previous game characters will be present to, if possible, attempt to guide the other characters and reduce panic. It's not that they have any clue why Yggdrassil is there, but they have some experience with shadows. Each thread will represent one of four different areas (though they're all the regular 'branch'/'tree'-themed style) that the characters land in. They might land on top of each other, several feet away, etc., but the holes they fall through drop them off in the same general area.

We'd like you to sign up for one of the four threads so that we don't all get too confused about the chaos of the first night. It's assumed that the four groups will find their way out of Yggdrassil around slightly different times to explain why they don't encounter each other in the center. Don't worry, there'll be future Yggdrassil threads where everyone will be able to interact.

Try to keep the groups relatively even, but they don't have to be the same exact number.

If the threads aren't finished by Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday-ish and your character is going to post a journal entry about it, please respect the people who aren't done and be very vague about specifics that may or may not have occured in the thread. Your characters can always be more specific about it later.

General Mod Announcement -- Pre-Game Stuff Part 1

A big “Thank You!” to everyone who has submitted to Psychomachia! The mods are very happy with the many awesome applications we’ve received and the equally awesome people who wrote them. Welcome to the game!

As the time draws near, here is a quick checklist~ Just check to make sure you have:

Finally, you may recall from the rules that this game is arranged so that one day in the game equals one week in real time. The week of March 8 represents April 2, 2011, a Saturday, which is two days before classes begin. The new persona users will have received their pocket watches and have woken up with them that morning (see Premise).

The weekend (RT, Friday through Sunday) represents the evening/night and it will be the night that all persona users fall into Yggdrasil for the first time. More information on this will be made available soon, but the mods’ general idea is that new persona users will be found by the veteran persona users. However, the organization will be tweaked a bit due to the mass of new persona users we have.

Stay tuned for further announcements coming soon!
