I would love a line between a supernatural creature and someone who collects them/experiments on them (or something of the sort). The second character can have magic or not. I also don't think that the supernatural should be submissive or the collector more dominant just because those are their starting positions. Things don't have to work like that!
I would love it if we let things evolve with little backstory from us! Your character only knows about mine what the dealer selling him told him (species, temperament, picture), mine only knows what he was told by the dealer (which could be true or not), and we explore from there. I'd love for mine to eventually make yours realize how human-like his species are--or maybe (if we want to go dark) also convince him that some other rival species is worth collecting.
