O T H E R S . They walk among us, OBSERVING.
In the beginning, there were only the humans, and, amongst them, a cursed woman. She was a good woman, pure and kind, but wherever she went, misfortune followed her. Whenever she lit a candle, it went out. If she petted a puppy, it died. If she fed a bird from her hand, the bird would fall from it, dead. Children died in the houses she visited, and the power of her curse opened a Vortex of Damnation around her. With it came the first forces of Darkness. Warriors of the Light rose up to fight the darkness, and thus began the battle between the Light and the Dark.
All because one human cursed another.The battle raged on for centuries, neither side every truly winning. The two sides came to a standstill, and ended up forging a truce. Thus was the Great Treaty formed, and the Inquisition to uphold it. The Light formed the Night Watch to watch over the Dark, and the Dark formed the Day Watch to watch over the Light.
Thus has it been, and thus shall it always be.

It’s 1979. James, Sirius, Remus and Peter have been out of school for over a year and things are looking grim. Lord Voldemort has risen to power, and people are dying every day. Dumbledore has formed the Order of the Phoenix, an elite group of Aurors and civilians who are fighting against Voldemort and his terrors. They’re struggling to find ways to bring him and his evil to an end and bring justice to those who have hurt, tortured and even killed serving him and his evil ways.
There's a small light in the darkness. Two weddings have come to pass in the last year. Lily and James, and Frank and Alice are living happily as husband and wife. Neither family can begin to fathom the things that lay ahead of them. How will they deal with the tragedy, the death, and all the other evil things that are yet to pass?
Ascending Obscurum is a Marauder’s Era Roleplay, set in the year 1979 during and leading up to the end of the first Wizarding War.

| PROLOGUE |
You wake up one morning with a headache, you wonder if you're hung-over but you didn't drink anything last night so that can't be it and after taking a painkiller and heading to work you forget all about it. A few days later you think you back to your childhood and there's a memory that doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense and you try not to think about it because it sets you and edge and makes you feel uncomfortable.
It doesn't stop.
Maybe weeks go by, or maybe it's months, and someone turns up on your doorstep. Maybe they look official, or they're wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but they introduce themselves and tell you that they're from something called 'The Agency', they sit you down and if you're lucky they'll make you a cup of tea or pour you a drink before explaining it all to you.
The memories are real, but they're someone else's, someone you always thought of as fictional. You're what they call a reincarnate, someone who's been reincarnated from this fictional person, brought into this world with magic that no one yet understands.
They talk about a war that's being fought between two sides of reincarnates, the good and the bad. You're not told what side to pick or that you need to, but you know that a day will come when you and the person you were and are possibly becoming will need to choose.
