Lilly wasn't sure if she should feel guilty about how content she was now. Of course, she was still very worried about what was going on with their moms and this crazy Brian guy. She couldn't forget that. But Dan had a way of making her not worry so much about it. He gave her something to be distracted by. In this case, it was making food, that she was certain everyone in the house needed right now. She walked with him to the kitchen, much calmer than she had been when she'd joined him in the living room, a little bit ago. It was kind of messy in there, that was evidence of how their parents were feeling right now.
"Sounds simple enough, but filling." Lilly nodded, in agreement with him. It'd be easy to make for a lot of people. She wasn't sure she could focus on any intense cooking. That was alright though, they didn't need anything fancy. Just enough to give them some energy. She really hoped this mess was over soon, though. Lilly wanted to get out of the house, go to the beach...do all the things she normally could. But right now, it wasn't safe. Nothing was safe right now. But she hoped it wouldn't always be that way.
Lilly giggled a bit as Dan kissed her cheek. That was definitely distracting her from her mission, not that she minded. She'd thought she'd seen some lunch meat and cheese in there before, but she wasn't sure on that. It might be gone now, what with all the teenagers in the house and all. But when Dan found the bread, Lilly went into the fridge and pulled out the meats and cheeses that they had. She grabbed the mayo as well, laughing about how Tess liked italian dressing with hers. To Lilly that sounded pretty gross, but to each their own, she supposed.
