He smiled at her and took her hands to help pull her up off of the couch as well. "Of course I have the best ideas, woman." He made sure she was steady before clasping one of her hands in his. The walk to the kitchen was short enough, hopefully they could find some caffeine sources in there. It was way too early to be thinking about sleep, as tired as they were. "You say that like it's a shocking thing." He teased, keeping her hand tight in his. Walking into the kitchen was almost like stepping thru the pearly gates. He knew he was hungry but he hadn't realized how hungry he was until he was hit with the sight and smell of food.
"So what I'm thinking," He told her. "Was we can heat up a couple cans of soup and make some sandwiches. It'll be quick and easy but it'll fill up the hungry folks." Himself included. It was a lot healthier than ordering a pizza, too. And he had been tempted to do just that for a bit. But with his mom expecting, he figured it would just be better all around if he tried for something even just slightly wholesome. Digging around in his uncle's cupboards, he found a couple cans of vegetable medley soup. That ought to do the trick. he found a soup pan in one of the drawers and got it on the stove, lighting the burner before he opened both cans and dumped their contents into the pot.
"Okay, we'll keep an eye on this," He told her. "We need to see what we can make the sandwiches out of." Disposing of the cans, he paused to kiss her cheek sweetly, grinning at her. "You think there's any lunchmeat or cheese or something in the fridge?" He was almost too preoccupied kissing her cheek over and over to look. But he managed to get away, finding the load of bread on the counter. "See what you can find. I'll dig out the mayo and stuff. If you have any Italian dressing, get that out too. Mom likes it with her mayo." He told her. He wasn't as crazy about the combo, but Tess really liked it. Especially pregnant.
