Dan nodded, keeping his arm wrapped around her as they sat there together. He was glad that he was getting to spend a little time relaxing with her. She always brightened his days too. And God only knew that they both needed a thing like that right about then. He frowned a little when she told him that her Mom hadn't slept well, but he understood that it was inevitable. "Mine didn't sleep much either," He told her softly. "Pretty much not until the sun came up and even then just in spurts for a little bit."
He shifted a little so he wasn't quite so slumped on the couch. He didn't want to encourage himself to pass out and leave her hanging. "But I think, I hope, this will all be resolved soon." The family pretty much wouldn't get by unless it did. Their whole lives had been turned upside down. The Dads couldn't even really work at the same time because of it. And it was okay since there were so many copies of them in a way. But it wasn't always the greatest thing. None of them wanted to be cramped up in there. D had his mother's free spirit, and it was driving him absolutely crazy to be there.
"We're gonna get thru this," He told her softly, his eyes steady and his expression firm. "That fuckface is gonna get what's coming to him, and then we're gonna move on." And life would be a lot better. For them, for their parents. For everyone else around that could be affected by Brian, really. Things would be looking up as long as someone found him and staked him while they still had a chance. For all they knew he might be a super mutant version of a vampire or something, and that would not be good.
