[With Halloween gone, you might be pulled into an illusion of safety. Afterall, there's no reason to be pestered now, no new costumes to be added, no creepy monsters to follow you.

Ah, but one can always be an inconvenience to those in this land. Nothing so terrible this time, depending on your views and past experiences... You're likely to wake up with a set of wings today.

No arm replacement, just a pair of large wings like typical imagery of angels, in a variety of colors and textures fitting the owners. You could freak out, wonder at the fluff of down, or even attempt to fly - and yes, it is possible, although watch out you're not in mid-air by the time this addition ends.]

[[Good ol' fashioned Wings Event! Exactly what it sounds. & don't worry, charas are unlikely to end up splattered in the ground because of this.

EN ESPAÑOL. El clásico post de Alas! Exacto lo que suena. & no se preocupen, los personajes tienen poca chance de terminar aplastados en el suelo por esto.]]

[Here's someone that more or less prefers to hang in Tourmaline, also on the way to the library today - and likewise another of the few who aren't jumping at the chance to fly around (expressly to avoid the possibility of making a fool of himself in the process.) Out of sheer stubborn discipline he's been managing to keep the pair of wings pressed down neatly at his back to have out of sight as much as possible, annoyed at the thought of losing balance or control... not to mention the less than subtle message it might send if he draws attention too much to the way one of his wings is a soft almost shiny gold hue on his right side while the other is the image of the pure black crow wings on the left.]

Given the circumstances here so far... One has to wonder what exactly are the ways it should be used instead.

[Keeping a low profile aside, clearly he can't ever help himself from saying something. Like no offense, but seriously.]

[He can appreciate nice aesthetics, so he approves of the special snowflake wing combo, even if he can't quite get their full meaning.]

Well, to help people, for a start! Fight off some monster that's gone wild [or trying to wreck the world with massive rifts across the sky, right?], move some boulders blocking a road, even make sparkly lights to entertain someone. That's still better than this sort of nonsensical thing.

[He wants to groan, though the answer isn't unexpected. Ah of course. He gives a placid smile and a slight nod instead.]

How heroic. If the average person thought of it the same way, I'm sure we'd all be better for it.

The average person probably doesn't think that far about magic, do they? [That's the whole problem, they should.]

Don't they?

Even knowing they'll never see such a thing in their lives, people without it still idolize farfetched stories of monsters, wizards, ancient spells... Even flying. [Ha.]

Though I suppose a place like this makes much more of a real possibility for some of us. [Us normies totally free of magical connections yeah..........]

[More like 'demonize', in his case, but he supposes there's good reason for that, in most cases.]

It's one thing to imagine what it'd be like to have magic, and another to really think about its consequences or any concrete reality for it.

Maybe so. If imagination could become reality... I'd be curious just how many might run past the responsibility of good deeds and into the temptation to fulfill long-borne fantasies.

[The deeply human selfishness of it all. He admittedly speaks not quite darkly despite the words, and neither smugly or gloating - almost just a casual matter of fact philosophy vibe at the discussion. Under the surface, yes he knows all too well the way it applies to him, to others, to anyone else, which may or may not be where his lack of sympathy of all in such a spot would be. But he should play nice and at least pretend to be on topic:]

Fantasies, of course, like freely taking to the skies to fly. [Ha ha?]

Sure, flying. Or [makes an 'evil overlord' silly voice] taking over the world and such nonsense, right? [SIGHS.] It's not as rare as you'd think.

[Wants to make some derisive comment about such people so badly. He chuckles lightly.]

Really. Do you say that from experience with such encounters? The world certainly is a confident endeavor.

More with, trying to stop a madman who's convinced himself that is the right path to follow. [Less 'evil overlord' and more like, crazy fucker.]
