tookajourney Premise: Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne. A classic for most people. Even a couple of hit movies and television shows. We know it's not real, but what if it was. Deep down inside the center of the Earth, another earth lies inside. It's a time from the past, and here it's very much real. People from different times, universes and places are being pulled down to the world within the world. They all come the same way, a sudden plunge in the earth underneath them where they fall many many miles until they land in a large pool of water that's big enough to sustain the fall of everyone who passes through.
Swimming over to land, there is only one path to take. After passing through several obstacles (a room filled with gas, or steep sided walls) they found themselves at Hansbach river. At the end of the river is a vast cavern. They're in a new world. At the ceiling of this vast cavern is an electrically charged gas that brightens the world and a deep ocean that stretches out as far as the eye can see. The coastline is surrounded by petrified trees, and giant mushrooms.
This is where they're supposed to make their new home, but do they? Some will try to get across the vast ocean. If they make it across the Lidenbrock Sea, which is full of dinosaurs like Ichthyosaurus (a giant prehistoric reptile) and Plesiosaurus (another large ancient reptile) they get to Axel Island, which has a huge geyser in the middle of it. On the island are even more ancient dinosaurs all walking around. The coast is covered in the bones of some of the dinosaurs. If you looked around enough, there are prehistoric humans there, twelve feet tall that resemble apes. But do you want to get too close?
But there is no way out. The way out through the geyser doesn't work anymore. They are stuck at the center of the Earth and must learn how to survive through this prehistoric region. Everything will have to be built. Sure the temperature rises, sometimes to terrible degrees but never enough to kill every living thing. You might just want to stay indoors when it gets to be that hot.
It's a first come first serve thing with characters. So yeah.
