WHO: Charlie and Don Eppes.
WHERE: The basement lab.
WHEN: After this and this.
RATING: TBD.
STATUS: Started.
Charlie had locked himself in one of the rooms of the basement lab, a room he'd set up with chalkboards for when his work got distracting to the others or theirs got distracting to him. He was immersed in P vs NP, using it to avoid the problem that seemed to be looming on the horizon. It was how he coped with things. It was how he had dealt with, or avoided dealing with, his mother's cancer and death, and now he was using it to avoid Don.
Someone knew. Zack knew. He'd seen them And Charlie just knew that Don wouldn't continue this if he knew that somebody had found out. Don was a good person. He followed the rules. This had just been a lapse in judgement on his brother's part, and Don would realize that as soon as Charlie told him about his conversation with Zack. He'd forget about this and find a nice, socially acceptable relationship. And Charlie really didn't want that. He wasn't sure he could handle losing this aspect of his relationship with his brother. He relied on it too much and that scared him a little. He looked at the board in front of him and erased things in frustration, beginning again.
