With the rapidly-multiplying servers, is there any chance of some sort of paid-user speedup? I have a vague recollection of LJ claiming something about paid users getting faster access and I think that there's some tool that facilitates prioritizing certain requests over others in the set of things that came out of LJ (among the tools like memcached and BML). I'm really more curious than anything, since the site always seems plenty fast to me.

We don't quite have the setup to handle that. We are on leased servers, and I woudl need my own rack of servers and more efficient load balancers and stuff to handle that.

yeah, i'm not surprised. i just thought somehow that i'd read that some piece of code that the old LJ people had hacked made it simpler, but that was probably wishful thinking.
