It Was As They Feared...........

August 10th, 1996 an article published in the Daily Prophet turned not only the educational system in Hogwarts, but everywhere, upside down. According to this article; Educational Decree #289; Article 1235-7C had been passed stating,

…in addition to the cancelation of Hogsmeade trips, all clubs, groups or activities that promote hostility or violence among students or promote the segregation of houses, are hereby disbanded until further notice. All clubs, groups or activities that wish to be granted the ability to reform must speak with their head of house upon filling out necessary forms and give reason why if disbanded they should be reinstated..

Students also got news that changes were being made in Hogwarts accordingly. But the changes weren’t explained in detail, all that students and parents were made aware of from their letters were, prefect badges, quidditch captains and head boy and girl positions would be given out come September 1st, at the beginning of term speech at Hogwarts.

Parents and students alike became abuzz with rumors as to what the changes would be. Some were that possibly aurrors would be returning to guard the grounds, perhaps additional professors, smaller classes and even possibly new rules from the Ministry, but never did they suspect that houses would be changed and a whole new struggle for power would come from within the walls and more dangerously, from within the students themselves.

With Voldemort closing in on the Ministry of Magic every day and Dumbledore running out of time himself to train Potter and explain the theory of the Horcrux, the true danger coming from within was ignored. And that danger could very well be the undoing of Hogwarts.

This year when the doors open, friendships will be broken, enemies will unite under a common goal, and the very foundation on which the school was built could be severed forever.
