Laughter from Gump exploded at the hit from the tiny faerie. “Perhaps jealousy has stricken your little friend.”
Light pressed his palm to the side of his head where he’d been struck and rubbed it some, choosing to ignore Gump’s words and instead watch as Paprika hovered off in her tiny ball of light form toward the lock. Well, at least that seemed to be in character for her. He was suddenly filled with flashbacks from being Peter Pan but shook that off rather quickly as he could not recall enjoying that particular movie jump. Coughing lightly, he looked at the lock as it tumbled to the ground. Because he knew that she was still in there, he reached toward it as it clattered but of course missed it and sighed as it clanked to the ground.
“At least the pest is good for something!” Gump cheered in slight silence, not wanting to be caught by the guards for a second time. He looked at Light and nodded to him. “Brandish your sword to the Lord of Darkness to save your lady fair, I will regroup with Brown Tom to see if they are making way in getting to the unicorns. I suggest bringing the pixie with you.”
“Right, good luck Gump.” Not that Light actually gave a damn, considering he knew how the movie ended. His hand was still on his head at that moment, but he let it drop to collect his sword and ducked his head to step out of their once prison cell, kneeling next to the lock. “Sorry about that Lily stuff. But uh … She’s probably up there.” He motioned to a staircase that led toward a large tower. “This is about the time where the Lord of Darkness is trying to get her on his side, so…”
Now he was actually somewhat bit afraid to tell her they should probably head up there to save the girl.
