Death had landed in a similar posiiton. Well, more of a sprawl, but she had sat up and double checked herself for broken bones, found none, and then set on comforting Pearl.
"It was the universe, Pearl. It's not always happy. Nothing's happening, hear me? Nothing." She pulled Pearl into another hug. "You're not dying. Not today. Neither am I. I won't go for a while." Death would probably never explain that the song wasn't her requiem but for the universe itself. What Pearl had been shown and heard was enough. Death didn't want to terrify the girl.
