Resting against the older woman into the hug, Pearl continued to cry as though she couldn’t stop, even as Death spoke to the Ood, and then, to the world around them. Her voice — no, her tone was something that she wasn’t quite used to hearing, however through her own tears she didn’t respond or ask what was going on. The music came to a stop but her tears continued onward, it was a rather difficult thing for a child to turn off from happening and despite the song’s end the feelings remained still, at least for a short time. Even though they would leave her body, the memories of those feelings would remain with her.
Though her eyes were closed, the brightness affected her still. It knocked her into her senses for a short time being, especially when she was spoken to in Death’s roaring voice, to be heard over the world breaking around them. Eyes squinted, the light blinding her and realized that she could barely see Tele to begin with. The place looked warped, confusing, she didn’t quite know where she was jumping to but on Tele’s signal, Pearl jumped and in the end, fell onto the ground of the school’s campus, where she tumbled but was safe. And now that she was safe, curled up on the ground just slightly, she felt her palms press to her face once more.
“Miss Tele…” She whimpered through panting breath. “…Miss Tele… What… Why was that song so sad… What’s happening…?” Dare she ask the figure of Death herself if she was dying?
