Who: James and Xianghua What: Meeting! Trying to pronounce Chinese! Where: Xianghua's room When: Friday sometime. Warnings: Flirting and lots of it. Oh and there's a chocolate frog that freaks out Xianghua
James was staring at the tinfoil frog hoping he had picked the right one. He had several variations of them that he had brought with him from back home. What would she prefer the most... Most women seemed to love dark chocolate more than the other flavors, so he went with that one. His hair was a seeming mess as normal. He didn't hesitate on Xianghua's door and knocked it twice before leaning against the doorframe.
Xianghua paused as she heard the knock, tilting her head at the door for a moment. It obviously wasn't Sol, as Sol never actually waited for a response after he knocked, so this meant a brief moment hesitation as she checked that she was both properly dressed and her room was more or less clean. Finding that she did, in fact, have a decent amount of clothes on and that her surroundings were as organized as they were likely ever going to get, she called out, "Door's open!"
James opened up the door, looking around for a few moments before spotting Xianghua and gave her a classic smile that would melt many a heart. "Nice to meet you in person love," he said as he closed the door. "I do apologize for the lack of linguistical ability on my part. I mean no offense to you in being unable to pronounce your name." he held the foil covered chocolate frog in his left hand, idly bouncing it up and down there.
"It's no problem! A lot of people seem to have trouble with it, I guess. I have absolutely no idea why!" The last sentence was spoken with a slight giggle and punctuated with a quick wink. "Anyway, it's not really that hard once you hear someone say it. At least, I don't think so." From there, she pronounced her name for him twice, once slowly to accent each sound, then a second time more quickly to help illustrate how the sounds were supposed to fit together.
James recited her name three times, kinda of mangling it the first time, but avoiding spitting all over the place in the process. The second time was better and the third was perfect, as well as a native english speaker could get anyways. "There!" he seemd quited pleased with himself. "Thank you for that Xianghua. I appreciate it. Wouldn't do to be unable to pronounce one of my neighbors name, espically one as cute as you are," he winked back at her. "Here you are my love," he said and extended his hand out to her with the chocolate frog.
She winced at his first attempt, but as he seemed to master the difficult art of pronouncing her name, she beamed at him and gave him a short round of applause. At his compliment, she gave one of the longer portions of her hair an exaggerated flip, before replying in a faux-flirtatious tone, "Compliments, chocolate… Should I be expecting flowers next?" She took the chocolate from his hand, blowing him a kiss before unwrapping it… and promptly squealing and dropping it as it seemed to come to life in her hand. That… hadn't been something she had been expecting.
James smirked sightly at her flirtious remark. "Maybe if you weren't already taken love," he stoped smirking only barely able to contain the laughter he had at seeing her drop the frog. "Aaahhh Im sorry sweetie," he said and reached down, picking up the frog in his hands. "Its magically enchanted to do that," as if on cue the frog croaked at Xianghua and began to squirm about in James hand.
She gave the frog a look of something that bordered on disgust as it squirmed in his hand, before looking back to James and declaring, "I can't eat that! It's, like… it's practically alive!" She couldn't help but to imagine it squirming as she took a bite out of it and shuddered at the thought.
"Oh come on now. The enchant will wear off in a few minutes. But if you really don't want to wait..." James removed his wand from up his sweater and waved it twice. "Dispelian" The frog immediately returned to what a normal chocolate frog would look like and stopped moving totally. "Here," he said and offered it back to Xianghua.
She took it from him, holding it up to about eye level with one hand after she had. She fixed it with a dubious look, as though expecting it to come back to life at any second. However, after a few moments passed and it remained perfectly still, she gingerly took a bite out of the now inanimate frog. Smiling at him somewhat more reservedly than normal, she said, "It's good. Thank you!"
"My apologies for decieving you. Enjoy it with my compliments and thank you," James gave her a polite bow. "Now if you will excuse me. I need to go for a broom ride. I feel my skills begining to wane right now." James gave Xianghua a wink before he turned for the door.
"Alright, then! I'll see you later, James." However, before he could make it to the door, she grabbed his arm and spun him back around to face her. She followed this up with a brief hug and a peck on the cheek, only to punctuate those actions by practically shoving him out of her room. "Have fun, now!" she chirped, before shutting her door in his face without giving him any chance to respond.
James returned the hug, but didnt expect the kiss on the cheek really. Had he known that was come he may have given her one in return, or maybe lightly grabbed her ass. Either or. "No problem love," he said to the door with a grin on his face. Oh yes. He would enjoy it here.
