"Yeah. I wanna ride a T-Rex. Think we can arrange that?" Faith asked as she floated calmly around in the pool of water with Rogue. By looking at the two girls nobody would have guessed they were just locked in deadly combat. Well, okay maybe not deadly although both girls could certainly be deadly. It was just some friendly competition that had somehow turned into a friendly swim time.
"Check this out. I wanna try something." Faith used to be all about swimming back in Boston. She and her cohorts had found a rock quarry just south of the city and Faith was the only one who would jump from the tallest spot. She loved that rush right before the water hit her. She thought about spidermaning her way up the side of the cliffs but instead decided to try something she had never tried before.
With one long powerful stride of her arms she was diving down to the bottom of the surface. She hadn't managed to hit the bottom when Rogue tossed her in so she suspected the water was actually pretty deep. Her foot hit the sandy surface finally and she crouched there for a full minute before springing herself up as hard as she could.
The water worked around her but Faith used her natural buoyancy to her advantage and suddenly she was flying up out of the surface of the water. The fake sun sparkled off of her as water dripped and flew into the air like spun glass for one perfect second before she descended quickly. She hit the water hard, much harder than the impact that Rogue had created when she tossed her in. But it was worth it.
Faith swam her way back up to the surface laughing. "You gotta try that. It's wicked fun." Too bad they had no real way to measure who could get higher but that was probably for the best considering Rogue could fly.
