Who: Dani and Santana
Where: Rebekah, Elijah and Santana’s house
When: Wednesday, June 25th
What: What happens in isolation
Status: Complete
Warnings: Blood drinking and some mild sexy stuff
It had been over a week since Dani had last been outside the house. After the werewolf incident on their way to the Teardrop Lounge, Rebekah had come with the cure for Caroline and Santana -- and apparently, the cure was a couple vials of her brother’s blood. It was kind of disgusting, but it made Santana better, and that was all Dani could focus on. The pain and the hallucinations she’d experienced after she’d been bitten -- even though it couldn’t have lasted more than a few hours -- Dani hated it. She hated seeing Santana in any kind of pain, and she felt helpless to fix it.
Now, though, Santana was fixed. And once she’d found out Klaus and Rebekah’s houses had been magically protected, she’d brought Dani there. Dani had protested that she was fine, that she could go home and she’d stay put and leave well enough alone, but Santana was persistent, and Dani secretly (or not-so-secretly, really) liked it. She liked that Santana wanted to protect her, and she liked being around Santana. She hadn’t gotten to spend this much time with her since she’d gotten to Portland, and she’d been here a couple months now. She knew, in the back of her mind, that it was dangerous to be around her now, but it was also kind of thrilling. Anything could happen. Anything. She knew she should be more afraid than anything, but it just made her all the more excited.
To say they were getting along better with Quinn gone was kind of an understatement. Things were like they’d been back home in New York. Dani didn’t know if they were together, but they were affectionate. They were coupley. She knew Santana didn’t really need food, but they had cooked for each other a few times. If it wasn’t for all the crazy stuff going on outside, she could have pretended everything was normal again.
When she woke up Tuesday morning, she stretched out her arms and yawned, sitting up in bed and raking her fingers through her hair. Santana was already gone, probably downstairs. The sun was up, which meant Santana was restricted to the house. Not that she’d gone out at all lately, night or day. She was worried about Dani getting hurt, mostly, and though Dani hated being cooped up, she was okay with it as long as Santana was with her.
Santana had woken up before Dani and untangled herself from the blonde before making her way downstairs. She tried to restrict her need to drink blood to times when Dani wouldn’t see it, so she grabbed a blood bag and drank it quickly. She’d done good with her control in the past week, with Dani staying here with her. Sure, there had been moments when she’d felt iffy with it and it had been a real struggle to keep herself in control, but as long as she kept herself fed, it was a little easier. But, she couldn’t deny that she did have to really work at it sometimes. So far, though, she hadn’t attacked her again, so that was a good thing.
Once she’d taken care of her own hunger, she put on some coffee and started fixing Dani something for breakfast. She didn’t technically need food, but she had been eating lately, since the girl had been staying with her. She missed Quinn, she couldn’t pretend she didn’t, but having Dani here did keep her mind off it. She hadn’t really had much time to think about it with everything that happened, and was still happening, in Portland. Not that she’d dealt with any of it after what had happened with the stupid wolves. She’d brought Dani home with her and they hadn’t left the house in a week. Santana didn’t want to risk anything. The whole getting bitten and having the threat of imminent death looming over her had kind of scared her. Not that she was admitting that or anything. Instead, she played it off that it was merely her concern for Dani, which, it was that too, but that wasn’t the only reason.
She was making Mexican omelettes for breakfast along with bacon and they were almost done when she could hear Dani’s heartbeat getting closer. She looked up just as she entered the kitchen and smiled. “This kind of ruins the whole breakfast in bed thing, but…” She shrugged. “Surprise?”
Dani’s hair was a bed-ruffled mess, and she ran her fingers through it again as she came closer to Santana, trying to make it somewhat presentable -- even though she knew she didn’t have to bother around the younger girl, it was habit. She’d pulled on some shorts before coming downstairs and was in that and a tank top. She knew Rebekah and Elijah weren’t around. Since finding Hayley on Friday, they’d been spending most of their time with Klaus, which gave Santana and Dani free reign of the house.
She smiled when she came down the stairs and smelled breakfast cooking, and she smiled even wider when Santana started smiling at her. She slid onto one of the stools at the breakfast bar and leaned across it, capturing Santana’s lips in a soft kiss. “I’ve told you you’re the perfect woman, right?” she questioned.
Santana’s full lips curved into a mischievous smirk and she arched a brow, one side of her shoulder lifting in a shrug. “You’ve said it, I already knew it, but I’ll never get tired of hearing it.” She said, in her usual arrogant manner. Some things, no matter what she’d become, would never change. She was still Santana Lopez, after all.
Pushing up on her toes, Santana grabbed a plate down and used the spatula to lift the omelette out of the pan and onto it. She put a few slices of bacon next to it and set it down in front of Dani, grabbing a fork to lay on the plate. “Breakfast is served.” She grinned, turning to pour some orange juice for the girl. Doing stuff like this, being with Dani, it made her feel normal again, like none of the vampire stuff had even happened.
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Dani replied, picking up her fork and slicing into her omelette. It smelled amazing, and when she took a bite, she let out an appreciative hum. It tasted even more amazing than it smelled, and that was quite a feat. “Aren’t you eating?” she asked. She knew Santana didn’t need to, but she felt weird sitting here while Santana watched her eat.
“Oh, uh, I...already…” Santana started, pressing her lips together, wrinkling her nose a little and rolling her eyes upward. She didn’t want to really explain further, she still felt kind of weird about it around Dani. Especially after she’d attacked her and compelled her to forget it the first time they’d seen each other in Portland. “But I’ll have some bacon or something.” She nodded, grabbing a slice of the bacon she’d fried and taking a bite. “See? Totally eating.”
Dani had actually meant human food -- she probably should have clarified -- but she was glad Santana had already gotten her fill of blood. She’d assumed that was the real reason Santana had gotten up without her. “Bacon’s good,” she said, breaking off a piece of her own and pressing it to Santana’s lips with a grin.
Santana’s eyes locked onto Dani’s as she took a bite of the bacon against her lips, chewing slowly. They’d spent a whole week together, acting like they were basically a couple again, sleeping in the same bed, being affectionate, but things hadn’t gone past that. The sexual tension between them was palpable and it was driving Santana insane. Her senses and emotions were still so heightened and sometimes hard to process and especially sometimes hard to get control of.
Not taking her eyes from Dani’s, Santana reached over and took the remaining bit of the bacon out of her hand and holding it to her lips this time. “Want some?” She asked with a smirk.
It was the eye contact that was killing her. She couldn’t look away, no matter how much she knew she should. She wanted Santana, bad, and it was painfully obvious that Santana wanted her too. It was actually pretty incredible that they hadn’t slept together yet. They’d been in the same bed, all holed up in this house alone, for the most part. They both must have had the best self-restraint in the world.
She opened her mouth, letting Santana feed her a little bit of bacon too, and when she’d finished, she couldn’t help herself. She lurched forward, taking Santana’s face in her hands and kissing her hard. She had been kissing Santana the whole time she’d been here, but she’d never let it go too far. She knew Santana was still upset over Quinn, and even though she couldn’t resist showing small signs of affection, she tried to keep from letting things go too far. But she couldn’t help herself right now. She didn’t want to.
Santana had known something was going to happen, it had been building for a week now. What she hadn’t really expected was for Dani to grab and kiss her like that. Not that she was complaining, it had just been one of those expected, yet unexpected things. But those lips were on hers, hard and hungry and Santana was really, really trying to maintain some level of control. But, that was a difficult task and before she even realized what she’d done, she’d lifted Dani up and had her slammed against the opposite wall much harder than she’d meant to. Sometimes she forgot her vampire strength. “Sorry.” She said, eyes wide and she pulled away from the kiss. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” Dani breathed. Her back and her head kind of ached, but she knew Santana hadn’t meant to hurt her. She’d gotten carried away and forgotten herself. It was strange to think that Santana was the stronger one now. Dani herself had always been kind of freakishly strong, for a human, but she had nothing on Santana now that she was a vampire. “Come here,” she whispered, stroking Santana’s cheek, encouraging her to come closer again.
Santana wasted no time, capturing Dani’s lips with her own again, kissing her deeply as she pinned her there against that wall. So many emotions and desires were running through her and it was hard to try and keep it all in check but she was trying. She was trying to focus on one thing and that was how bad she wanted Dani right now. Right here and right now. As long as she could keep her vampire self under control, everything would be fine.
Lips moving from Dani’s down to her neck, Santana kissed along the hollows of her throat. The beating of her heart was making her vein throb against Santana’s lips and she paused for a minute, keeping her eyes shut tight and her mind off the warm, delicious blood that was coursing through those veins. She returned to kissing Dani’s neck and moved down a little further, completely lost in the moment and in Dani herself. That was until her lips came into contact with the necklace that hung around Dani’s neck, the pain forcing her face to shift as she jumped back, fangs bared. Her veiny eyes fell to the necklace and that’s when it hit her. “Vervain.” She practically hissed out, the contact of it causing her immense pain that was already fading now that she was away from it.
Dani was lost in what Santana was doing to her, in how good it felt to feel her like this again. Her breakfast was completely forgotten, but she couldn’t bring herself to care right now. Her whole body was warming with every kiss, with every touch of those lips as they trailed down her neck and the hollows of her throat. Her heart jumped and picked up speed when Santana pulled so abruptly away from her and her face shifted, her eyes dark and veiny and her fangs out. Dani was part terrified, but she swallowed hard, looking into those blackened eyes and telling herself it was okay. It was still Santana, underneath, and she knew Santana didn’t want to hurt her.
She reached back and unclasped her necklace, letting it drop to the floor. She knew how well vervain worked, that it was for her own safety, but she didn’t want Santana to have to stay away from her right now. She wanted her close, as close as she possibly could be. With a tentative smile, she reached out again, tracing Santana’s jaw with her finger. “You’re so beautiful,” she said softly. Maybe it was strange to think that Santana was beautiful fully vamped out, but she was, in a scary, dangerous, primal sort of way.
Santana’s brow furrowed as Dani unclasped her necklace and let it fall to the floor. She wanted to protest, to tell her no, to leave it on, or even to get as far away from her as possible so she would be safe. But, she couldn’t, she loved Dani and now that she had her back, no matter what the capacity right now, she couldn’t bear the thought of letting her go. Santana knew Dani should put that necklace back on, for her own safety, but she said nothing, the blonde’s finger tracing along her jaw distracting her completely. She was surprised to hear Dani telling her she was beautiful, not that she wasn’t and not that she didn’t already know she was, but she was still all fangs and veins and well, a vampire.
“You should put the necklace back on, Dani.” Santana said lowly, the thrumming of Dani’s heart starting to echo in her ears, tempting her as it got faster. She didn’t want to hurt her, but this was a dangerous, dangerous game and while she knew she could stop if she did start, she didn’t know if she could keep from starting in the first place. “It’s not safe.”
“I trust you,” Dani said softly, brushing her thumb over Santana’s cheek. And she did, wholeheartedly. Santana had had every opportunity to bite her or hurt her. Sure, she’d been wearing her vervain necklace, and she knew it hurt Santana, but who was to say she couldn’t just rip it off if she was really determined? It would sting, but it would pass, and yet Santana hadn’t tried once. “You won’t hurt me. I know you won’t.” She wanted this. She wanted Santana to be free, to act on whatever she wanted to act on. She was afraid, but she was excited too -- in more ways than one.
She heard a crashing sound echo through the house, coming from the streets outside. She hadn’t been out since the first day, at Santana’s insistence, and though she felt guilty for hiding out with her ex-but-maybe-almost-again girlfriend, she didn’t know what kind of help she could provide, if any. So, she was letting herself be distracted, by this gorgeous girl she was so in love with, who she hadn’t seen in what felt like forever. “Please, Tana,” she whispered. “Taste me.”
The way Dani was looking at her was making Santana want her even more, which given how hard she was trying to keep herself in control, was not a good thing. She could sense what Dani was feeling and it wasn’t fear, it wasn’t disgust, it was...desire and lust. Santana hadn’t expected that. As Dani whispered those words, there was no holding back, all efforts of control were out the window and all Santana knew was she wanted to do exactly what was being asked of her. She ducked her head, trailing her tongue over the hollows of Dani’s throat again before sinking her fangs into the flesh there and drinking deeply.
Dani’s heart was beating madly in her chest. It hurt and she was afraid, for a minute, but that pain and fear was blocked out by the overwhelming feeling of pleasure that flooded her senses and warmed her body. She trusted Santana, and she wanted to give her everything. She had grown so much more controlled, just in the past few months, and Dani knew she would stop before anything bad happened, so she encouraged it. She twisted her fingers in Santana’s hair and let out a soft groan as she drank from her.
Santana paused for a second as Dani’s hands wound into her hair and she let out that moan. This moment, while unexpected, was undeniably hot and Santana couldn’t help the moan that slipped out of her as well. It made her feel more possessive, even, drinking from Dani like this. She jerked her closer, roughly, as she drank more, tasting her just as she’d asked. She tasted amazing, not as addictive as whatever the hell was going on with Quinn’s blood, but God, amazing nonetheless. She didn’t want to stop, but she knew she had to and she willed herself to stop, finally. Reluctantly, she pulled away, licking over the puncture wounds to soothe them.
Dani felt a little weak when Santana pulled away, but she was in such a euphoric sort of state, she barely noticed. She smiled, her eyes closed as Santana licked over the puncture wounds she’d left behind. Now, she’d have a matching set, marks on each side of her neck. She kind of liked that, though. Maybe it was those sexy vampire erotica books she’d read back home getting to her, but she was really, really turned on by this whole thing.
Taking Santana’s face into her hands again, she kissed her softly, slowly, tasting the remnants of blood on her lips. “See?” she murmured, looking into Santana’s eyes, the familiar brown she’d fallen in love with. “I knew you wouldn’t hurt me.”
As Santana had pulled away from Dani’s neck, she’d let her features shift back to normal. The look on Dani’s face was dreamy and she was looking at Santana with those half-lidded, lust filled eyes. It made her brow arch and an amused smirk played at the edges of her mouth. Knowing this turned Dani on so much was definitely a huge turn on for her too. This whole thing was hot, the sexual tension between them had been building for awhile now and now that nothing was keeping them from it, it was about to happen. If it didn’t, Santana swore she might explode or like, die or something. For real, this time.
“Yeah.” She whispered back, leaning in to suck and lick at the other side of Dani’s neck. The way she was reacting made Santana smirk even more. “Like that, huh?” She teased, talking in that low, sultry voice by Dani’s ear. “You like me biting you, don’t you, Dani?”
“Yes,” Dani breathed out, tilting her head back and letting out a quiet moan while Santana worked on her neck. She wanted Santana so badly, she was aching for it, so when their eyes met again, she bit down on her bottom look and gave her that look. A look that said ‘take me’, because she was going to die if it didn’t happen now.
When Dani gave Santana that look, there was no way she was gonna be able to hold back or tease the girl any longer. No way. She needed to get her mack on and it needed to happen now. Lifting Dani up, Santana used her vamp speed to dash up the stairs and into her room, the door slamming behind her. Within seconds, she had Dani right where she wanted and wasted no time in getting right down to business. And thankfully, no one was home, they had a lot of making up to do.
