Who: Klaus and Allison and later Isaac Where: The hotel room and then Allison’s street When: Bendy Time What: Time to go home Status: Complete Warnings: Klaus, poor mind-erased Allison :(
Klaus spent the night in the hotel, he couldn’t afford to take any chances. Though, really, he didn’t have anything to worry about. He’d wiped Allison’s memory completely clean. She remembered absolutely nothing. Not just what had happened the last few days with Hayley kidnapping her and then him taking her from the new hybrid’s hiding place as a hostage of his own, but absolutely and completely nothing. She was, for all intents and purposes, a completely blank slate. She knew nothing of who she was, where she’d come from, none of it. In fact, she knew absolutely nothing, aside from her name, which Klaus had told her. He’d sat up all night, drinking his bourbon and thinking about everything that had happened earlier. He’d wanted her, sure, he was, after all, a male with very good taste and Allison Argent was incredibly attractive. But, after compelling her, her eagerness to please him, her determination to give him anything he wanted, it just wasn’t what he wanted anymore. His attraction to Allison was built on passion and anger, on hate and fighting and with none of that left in her, it just wasn’t there. So he’d compelled her again, this time, he’d decided to just take her entire life from her. Now she was truly at his mercy.
And now he was done playing with his favorite toy. He’d broken her and while he had the ability to put her back together, to fix her, this was much more fun. Or it would be, once he delivered her back to her pet wolves. Now that Elijah was starting to question him, it would only be a matter of time before his brother and likely his sister (and Hayley, who had probably gone to Elijah in the first place) found them, since everything he did was always ridiculed and monitored by his entire family. It was just how they all worked. If one was involved, they were all involved. The last thing he needed was to have them involved and he knew they would be. It was only a matter of time. It was why he was going to do something before they had a chance to make their move.
Standing up from the couch, Klaus finished the drink in his glass and set it down on the coffee table. “Let’s go, love.” He called out for Allison, who was probably in the bedroom still. He’d spent some time watching her sleep earlier, it had been a peaceful sleep, for a change and he’d almost felt guilty for what he was doing to her. Almost. But, there was fun to be had and it was time to take the little hunter back home. He could’ve killed her, so he was doing them a favor, really. No, he was actually doing Allison a favor, now she wouldn’t have to remember whatever was the cause of the pain and hauntedness in those dark eyes.
Allison hadn’t been sleeping. She was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling in her room and counting the tiles. The room was very nice, the hotel was very nice, Klaus was even nice despite his ever darkening mood. Her clothes were nice, the things that had been brought in for her like a hair brush and makeup had all been really nice. Everything was nice inside of this tiny little world that he had made for her. Allison hadn’t left the hotel in the last twenty four hours since she had been compelled to forget her entire life. She had nowhere to go. She didn’t even know who she was until Klaus told her that her name was Allison. Her questions were met with stony silence when she asked where she came from or where she lived. As far as she knew, she was born in this hotel and had lived here her entire life with Klaus. She didn’t know much about Klaus either other than his name. She did know that he had a strange diet and needed blood to survive. Allison already had the wounds on her neck so she supposed she was intended to be his meal. He told her this was natural, normal and she had been doing it for a long time and so she let him drink her blood even though the act itself made her extremely uncomfortable.
They didn’t know why she had lost her memory. Klaus said she had fallen in the bathtub and maybe hit her head but if that were the case why hadn’t he taken her to a hospital yet? She could have a serious head injury. But Klaus insisted that she was fine and only needed to rest for a few days and since she had no other choice but to trust this one person when she had nobody else to reach out to, she did. She stayed in bed, she slept, she flipped through channels, she tried to remember who she was but came back with nothing. Allison Argent. It was pretty but ultimately meant nothing to her.
“I’m coming.” She heard Klaus call for her and she got up out of bed, her dress wrinkled but still lovely as she stepped into the living area of the posh suite. “Are you hungry?” she asked him. She noticed he was drinking but didn’t comment on that. She already felt woozy from giving him blood before but would give him more if she needed to. He was after all, her entire world apparently. She couldn’t remember anything that came before him which was too bad because his mood swings were disarming at best.
She frowned. “Are we going somewhere?” she asked. She was a little nervous about leaving the safety of the hotel suite but she was eager to explore the outside world she had only glimpsed through a window.
Klaus pressed his lips together in a tight line as he looked at her. She looked lovely, yes, but she was not the little hunter he was used to dealing with. There was no fight left in her. It almost made him sad. But not quite; It was rather fitting given all the headaches she’d caused him and his family. This was, he supposed, some form of retribution for what she and her pet wolf had done to Rebekah. How they’d kept her caged up, the wolf biting her repeatedly to make her suffer. Perhaps Elijah had been willing to forgive her, to befriend her and allow her to help when his brother decided they needed the help of a hunter, but Klaus had never let it go. Not fully. And while he had his issues over what they’d done to his sister, he also had issues with Allison that didn’t involve Rebekah at all. Everything had all culminated into this moment and his victory, while sweet, wasn’t quite as sweet as he’d anticipated. Though, the best part was yet to come.
“We’re taking a little field trip.” Klaus answered, taking a few steps towards her, his eyes taking her in. She looked rather lovely in her dress he’d picked out for her. He reached out, touching her hair before moving it to the side. “I am rather hungry, yes. Since our time together will be coming to an end, I shouldn’t miss this last opportunity for such a delectable treat, now should I?” His lips curved into a devious grin and he moved behind her, pulling her back against him and tipping her head over. Klaus leaned in, his fangs sinking deeply into her neck as he held onto her, his arms around her waist while he drank deeply and greedily. Though, as he felt her growing limp in his arms, her pulse slowing against his lips, he pulled away. Allison’s eyes were half open and he knew she was weak from the amount he’d drained from her earlier. Lifting his wrist to his mouth, he used his fangs to tear into the flesh there before bringing it to her lips. He couldn’t very well send her home, half dead and with bites on her neck, so he would heal her. “Drink, little hunter. You’ll need the strength.” He whispered, against her ear.
The only thing Allison wanted to do was take a nap but in her condition it was possible she might fall asleep and never wake back up. Klaus had to tip her head back to get the blood to drip down her throat so that she was actually ingesting it. After a minute she started to feel stronger and she grabbed onto his wrist, drinking greedily until he pulled his wrist away from her. Her mouth was smeared in blood and she could see it in a nearby mirror. Something about the sight made her feel sick. “I’m going to get cleaned up if we’re leaving.”
It didn’t take Allison long enough to clean the blood off of her neck and her face. The bite marks were no longer visible on her neck and she found she preferred that. She hadn’t really liked being used as food but was it Klaus’s fault that he had to feed on blood? Everything was very confused right now and Allison didn’t know who she was or what she was capable of. The only thing she could do was trust Klaus and she had no idea just how dangerous of a proposition that was.
Once she was satisfied with her appearance she walked back out into the living area and slipped her shoes on. “You said our time was coming to an end. What does that mean? And why do you keep calling me hunter?” she asked him. Her dark eyes were narrowed at him. She may seem docile to him but there was a dragon lurking just beneath the surface.
Klaus merely waited as Allison disappeared to clean up. He hadn’t even had to suggest it; she just knew and moved to do it on her own. He stood in the tall windows, staring out over the city of Portland. It really wasn’t so bad here, though he did miss New Orleans. It was likely Marcel was still running his city now that he was out of the picture. He would find a way to overthrow his former protégé once he got out of here that was a promise. Revenge was something Klaus could wait for, just as he had with Allison, just as he had with Katerina, though Caroline had soured his thirst for that one. It had been worth it though, the outcome of him letting his desire for revenge go. Allison’s return shook him from his thoughts and he turned to face her, a slight grin at his lips as he took in the sight. No sign whatsoever of the feedings. Now, she was ready to return home.
“I’m afraid so, love.” He answered, approaching her to examine and make sure no traces of him remained. He would return her safe and sound and mostly unharmed, aside from his little compulsion. He would also compel her to forget their time together, to protect himself and his family, especially Clara. The last thing he wanted was anyone coming after his precious daughter. There would be no holding back, should that happen and he would kill anyone who dared. Klaus had ignored her question about calling her hunter, choosing to allow her friends and family to fill her in on those missing bits. Though she would never truly remember, not as long as she was under a compulsion only he could break. “You look lovely.” He smiled. “It’s time to go.” He led her to the elevator and down to the garage where his car was parked, opening the door to allow her in first.
It didn’t escape her keen notice that he hadn’t directly answered her question but it didn’t surprise her either. Klaus was often vague with her. In the short time she had known him, he had given her the runaround at least a dozen times and could rarely bring himself to give her a straight answer when she asked questions. She had a hard time accepting this but since he was the entirety of her world at the moment, she had no choice. She was quiet as they got into a car that was a little too bright and a little too fast for her. She wondered what kind of gas mileage this thing got anyway. It probably wasn’t very good. Maybe she should suggest a hybrid since they clearly had plenty of money.
Her eyes were glued to the window as she stared out at the passing scenery. She took in every inch of Portland that she could remember. Something inside of her forcing her to pay careful attention to every little detail. She wasn’t sure why other than maybe it could be handy knowledge later for some reason. Was she a hunter? Was that why? If she was a hunter then why were they in the city? Shouldn’t they go over the bridge to Vancouver or something? She needed the woods in order to hunt but Allison couldn’t even recall holding a gun ever let alone hunting something and Klaus seemed happy to keep her completely in the dark.
Finally they pulled up on a small suburban street corner and Klaus turned off the engine of his car. Allison stared at him in confusion. “What’s going on? Where are we?” She looked past him at the rows of houses she didn’t recognize. “Are you leaving me here?” The hurt in her voice couldn’t be denied. She hadn’t expected him to just dump her somewhere. But the truth was, she didn’t know him at all. She only knew that he needed her blood. Was she some kind of blood prostitute? Was he going to pay her now? Because she didn’t think she could bear that.
They drove in silence to the street he knew Allison was living on. He couldn’t deny there was part of him that would like to keep her, but this wasn’t how he wanted her. Not like this, not so willing and ready to bend to his every whim. It was gratifying, however, to see her stripped of who she truly was, so eager and willing to please him. But, this wasn’t Allison Argent, this wasn’t the formidable opponent he was used to. Therefore, it was time to take her home and let the real fun begin. He almost wished he could be there to watch them find her, to discover how she no longer knew them or knew anything of her life before. This thought made a small smirk play at the edges of his mouth as they drove. He had no doubt they would figure out he was behind it soon enough, though he would take every measure to make sure it took them awhile. He would make preparations to protect his daughter in the meantime.
As he pulled onto her street, Klaus parked at the corner, turning off the engine. He didn’t miss the hurt in her tone as she questioned him. “Now, now, love.” Klaus said, turning in his seat to face her, his hand reaching out to brush gently over her dark hair. “You’re going to be just fine. Perhaps one of your pets will find you, I don’t expect you’ll be alone for long.” He smiled at her. “I’m afraid, however, I can’t allow anyone to know of our time together.” Klaus studied her for a brief moment, his fingertips moving to her chin to tip it up and force her to look at him. “You will not remember anything of our time together or where you’ve been.” He started, watching as her pupils dilated, signaling she was under his compulsion. “You will remember nothing of being with me, nor will you recall the Mill, the hotel or where you’ve gotten your new clothes. You will not remember me at all or the time we’ve spent together these last few days. You will not remember Hayley taking you or feeding on anyone. You will simply cease to remember anything of the time you’ve been missing.”
“I don’t remember anything,” she said dutifully. Just like that her mind had been wiped fresh again. She already had forgotten about Hayley and the mill but now she could no longer recall the hotel suite or the last twenty four hours she had spent with him. “Maybe one of my pets will find me.” She didn’t remember having pets but maybe she had dogs or cats or horses or llamas. The possibilities seemed endless but there was no excitement in her as she got out of Klaus’s gas guzzling car. She looked back through the window at him and he watched her for a moment before he turned his gaze back through the windshield and drove away, leaving her standing alone on the side of the street.
She hugged her arms around herself. Fall had set in and it got very cool at night and the dress that she was wearing was a light clinging material. It also had straps instead of sleeves and gooseflesh erupted on her skin. She gritted her teeth a little as she strolled along the side of the street aimlessly. She didn’t know who she was or where she belonged. The only thought in her head was that her pets might find her. Her eyes scanned the dark city street for any signs of cats or dogs but didn’t see any. She really hoped it was a dog, she didn’t think she was a cat person but she didn’t know that for sure either.
Since she didn’t know what else to do, she continued to walk down the side of the street aimlessly. The wind picked up and she raised her head to look at the distant hills for a long moment. When she returned her attention to the street she realized somebody was approaching.
