Faye was furious. She felt powerless, defenseless and lost. She hated when she felt powerless. So what if Diana didn’t want her powers? That didn’t mean she should wish them away? What kind of idiot does that? Faye knew all too well that people want what they can’t have and it was only a matter of time until sweet little Diana would want those powers back and Faye would be right there to point out the obvious I told you so. But Faye wasn’t even in the mood to entertain that. Besides, if Diana could screw up and wish their powers away, then Faye could screw up and get their powers back. All would be good and Faye wouldn’t feel like a total loser.
But looking at the wishing well, Faye was apprehensive. The coins that were in her hand were burning hot, a tell tale sign that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. But who cared? They were in a different place, the people here were weird and Diana screwed them all over. She could do what she wanted with her life, but leave Faye’s alone. She didn’t care so much when Diana left to go have a normal whatever with Grant. She wasn’t thinking about Diana or her stupid feelings when she was bouncing around her room with Melissa, drinking and having a good time before she came to Portland. Suddenly, Faye went from flying high to an undeniable low and she bit her lip as she looked at the coins.
“I hate her so much,” Faye mumbled and instead of impulsively throwing them into the wishing well, she slipped them in her pocket. Her need for air as she told Diana and Cassie had been a total waste and now she was even more pissed off. She couldn’t go home, she couldn’t see Melissa and now she was stuck in Portland with freaking Cassie and Diana.
She didn’t notice it, not at first, but there was a car following her. She walked along the sidewalk, letting her thoughts of what she felt about both girls get to her and she literally drowned everything else out. It wasn’t until she heard a car horn that she turned around, ready to bitch someone out, but it was just someone else bitching out another person in the SUV.
The SUV sped off, but Faye noticed how the guy that was driving was looking at her and she felt a wave of fear roll down her spine. It could be that he was just a creep though, Faye thought and she’d dealt with too many creeps, it was like she spoke their language. Knowing how to talk to them and blow them off was like a second language to her so she continued walking until she found the house that they were staying at. Pushing open the door to the house, she stopped when she felt eyes on her. Frowning, she turned back, but didn’t see anyone, just the tail end of the SUV down the block.
Sighing, she pushed open the door and Diana and Cassie were talking. “Don’t let me stop you, I’m just passing through,” she said with a bored tone as she walked between them and headed for her room. She was so over this. She couldn’t even look at Diana. And people thought Faye was selfish. Faye simply could not deal with her, but creepy guy. She should warn them. Unless it was something else that Diana wished along with it. She wouldn’t put it past her considering everything was just a little bitty accident.
Turning around, she eyed both girls. “No, I didn’t make any wishes,” she said first off. “But I did notice that I was being followed. Black SUV, tinted windows, the guy that was driving was pretty hot, but he had that creep stare going for him. Just thought you two should know.”
