The community you wank off to

Just a reminder that there's officially one more day left until the Magical Devices Challenge ends. However, I won't be posting the masterlist until Monday evening, so if you've a last minute entry you have a bit longer to squeak something in past the deadline.

Thanks to those of you who've submitted fics and art, and remember that this is a challenge that is open to members and watchers alike. Details can be found here.

Invites have been finished for everyone whom I had listed as having posting access on the community members list. If you are a member with posting access and you have not been listed on any of the invite updates, please let me know; it's possible that I may have overlooked you when sorting through several thousand members or your username may not have come up on Insanejournal during the invite process. All invitations were sent out based on LJ user names, with the exception of the individuals who told me their IJ names were different.

As always, if you know any of the individuals on this list, please point them this direction so they can accept or reject their invites ASAP. Invitations are only active for 30 days.

New challenge!

All members and watchers should make certain to check out the first challenge for 2008: Magical Devices and Items! Stories and art are due by midnight February 10, and the challenge is open to all--members and watchers. See the post for details.

Members, please feel free to post all of your holiday fest fics and art here as long as they are R or NC-17 and the word count for fics is 10,000 words or less.

I'm still trying to finish up the primary invitation process for posting access members. We're getting closer to the end...we've now hit the S's. :) Please, if you are a member with posting access, check this list and accept or decline your invitation as soon as you possibly can. If you recognize a name on this list, please point them this way so that they can accept or decline...the faster the list empties out the faster I can get people invited into the community. So our first challenge for the new year and the new community was inspired by a little snippet I ran across in a Wired.com blog recently regarding "predictions" for the upcoming year.

Including one that involved the Sorting Hat, bigamy, Scotchguard addiction, and underage sunbonnets.

Really, who can resist that?

So this challenge will require each artist and author to use in a primary capacity some sort of canonical magical device or item. Whether you choose to use the device as a main character, a sexual aid or a plot device is entirely up to you, but the fic or art must revolve around the device you choose.

Stories and art by community members with posting access must be posted in the Insanejournal community by midnight your time zone on February 10. All entries should be tagged challenge 08: magical devices.

In addition, this challenge will be open to all watchers; if you'd like to participate, please email your fics and artwork to pornishpixies @ gmail.com before midnight your time zone on February 10 and it will be posted to the community for you.

Bits and bobs

• There was an issue with the RSS feed not cutting, as some of you know. (And thanks for the heads-up there for those of you who let me know about it.) Hopefully that has been fixed now thanks to some help from gmth. If it continues, please let me know via a comment on the LJ or IJ community--don't comment on the RSS feed post because those comments aren't sent to anyone, so there's a really good chance I won't see it. :)
  
• gateway_girl has started us off with a bang by posting Unnatural Attractions (Harry/Sirius, NC-17).
  
• The first challenge of the New Year and the new community will be posted this weekend. Keep an eye out for that.

Sorry to keep pestering everyone with this, but it's the easiest way to continue updates on the posting members invitation process.
