Yami no Matsuei, Souryuu/Touda, give in to me 'Touda. Where are you going?'
'Mission.'
'What mission? I haven't heard any...'
'You're the voice of the Emperor, not his mind. If you want to question things, take your words to him.'
'...'
There was a time he closed his eyes, blocked his ears and silenced his mind for his lord. When he not only refused to question an order, but his heart sang to follow them. Faith made him the perfect tool. A beautiful, wicked weapon. He wanted nothing more than to serve. He existed for that very reason.
There is no joy in it now.
'Touda? That army... there were camp followers. Women, children... why didn't you wait for me? I could have...'
'Stopped me? Protected the traitors from my flames to assuage your guilt? My orders said leave nothing. I left nothing.'
'But they were innocent!'
'No one who goes against the Emperor is innocent. You're treading dangerous ground yourself, Guardian of the East.'
How often had they played their games over the years? In peace and war both? One chased the other, one teased the other. They fought and fucked and ignored each other until the next round of the strange relationship began. He'd enjoyed it, the challenge and distraction in his otherwise staid routine.
Now there was nothing.
'Tou... ouda...'
'Hmm?'
'...Fuuuuck...'
'Hmmmmmm.'
He'd never asked Soryu for anything. Not his attention, his lust, his friendship, not anything at all. There was nothing Soryu had that he wanted, but he'd accept whatever he was given. They were so different, the dragon was all passion and desire and boundless emotion. Limitless compassion hidden under strict discipline.
Touda simply burned cold.
'Ha 'ahn... nngnn... ...ah... there...'
'...Touda?'
'Uhn... what?'
'...you're lovely like this. I want to keep you. But I just keep trailing in your wake.'
'...I belong to the Emperor. Now are you going to fuck me or get off me?'
Fire and water were never meant to mix. Now all Touda had were memories of the tragic irony of their affairs to keep him warm in the all encompassing darkness.
