Final Fantasy VII, Aeris/Sephiroth, sensuality, "Remedial lessons in how to be alive."
She sighed at him. Then again, her sighing at him happened fairly often, and for the life, death? of him he couldn't figure out why she cared. He had killed her, shouldn't she be at least disturbed by him?
But no, instead she sighed. She made disappointed faces at him when he tried to dodge her entirely, and she didn't give him enough space when he yielded to them. He didn't understand her. She forgave him for killing her.
She forgave him for trying to kill everything, and that stymied him. She didn't even get upset that he felt the need to prod at Cloud so... for the most part. Then again, he could defend himself on that, because did she do any less? Truly?
He didn't however, have any idea what she wanted with him today. "What? You have others to bother, why do you focus on me?"
"Silly man. I've been trying real hard to get you ready, but you just won't try will you?" She reached for his hair, and only the nebulous forms that the lifestream cast around him kept him still to the touch, and he didn't understand the sad smile she gave him in reply.
"Ready for what?" The touch finally made him twitch, and he lifted his hand to catch her wrist, staring down at her intensely.
"Life. Real life, rebirth, learning to live properly." She stepped closer, shook her head slightly. "But you have to be clean before you can, and the lifestream works in some very odd ways. Will you let me wash the last of the Calamity out of you?"
"If I do that, I'll finally be nothing. Forgotten." He narrowed his eyes at her, felt his breath, something he only did because he remembered to he was sure, shake a little as she pressed a butterfly soft kiss against his chest.
"You won't be forgotten. You were a great man. Once. Then you were a terror. People will remember, maybe not you, but what you did." She pressed another kiss, pulling her hand free of his gently and stroking his cheek. "Don't you want peace?"
The action and the words made him meet her eyes, something he usually strove not to do, and he found he had no answer. Was that not what he'd once wanted? Quiet and to be let be? When did he become obsessed with existing? "I will not cease to be."
"No, no you won't, I promise you won't." She shook her head, pulled him unresisting down into a kiss, pulled back from it to study his face. "Let me do this for you. Maybe you'll finally be convinced that I don't blame you anymore for killing me."
"I wanted you dead." He hesitated, then ran his hand up her back.
"Yeah, you did. Which I'm not happy about, but hey, lots of people have wanted me dead, or in a lab, or otherwise occupied. I'd take dead over torture." She shook her head, leaned into his body, and ran her fingers over his clothes, dissolving him from the image of himself so he was bare man. "But I'm not doing this entirely for you. Maybe it's a little for me too, hmm?"
"What?" He froze, registering the brush of lifestream, feeling vulnerable without armor he didn't even use anymore, if he ever did.
"Maybe I want to send you back clean for both of us. I didn't get a normal start to life either. I remember you. From before. So just... stop protesting so much, eh?" She pulled him down into another kiss, using his shock to take advantage of it, her clothes melting away much as his had, causing him to freeze at the feel of her.
"Why not go back yourself?" He shivered, feeling her small hands moving over his skin, not with his permission in the least, but he wasn't stopping her, even if he could feel her doing something deeper inside than the teasing touch.
"I can't. The Lifestream needs me here for now. I don't know if it will ever decide to let me go... and it doesn't want you here. It will rush you along, back to life, if I could just cleanse you."
And she was pushing, making him settle back, making him realized he could argue her. He didn't want to though, had lost the urge at some point. He wanted what she wanted, for the moment. He was curious. He wanted to see if this would work as she thought, if he would be... free after this.
